Guest guest
Jan--i got the email that started with you asking about my first name. Was there another email that you sent? le My daughter hated the crib as she tossed and turned so much (like body slamming) that she used to hurt herself against the hard sides of the crib. So after putting up with this on and off for 14 mos, we gave in and resorted to letting her sleep in the playpen every night. It had netting for the sides and my mom had made covers for the bottom which were quilted. We put an extra pad under the existing pad. When Caitlyn reached 2 1/2yrs she was nearly to long to lay down in the playpen so I dug out the crib matress again, and laid it on the floor against a wall and lined it with sofa cushions from the day bed (the bolsters (sp?). She loved the idea and took to it faster than I expected (it took her minutes). We had to lock her in her room with a hook and eye lock to keep her from wandering into the bathroom or wherever. 6 months later I put the bed into a toddler frame and she went back to banging herself into the wall. So at 3 1/2yrs we bought her a full size bed (double bed) and lined the wall with pillows. She loves it. We no longer lock the door (we put a gate across the stairs) and she comes into our room when she wants to come into our bed (it's so cute) or when she's real sick there's enough room for me to sleep in her bed. I found Barney bed sheets (cost $100 for a double bed) which we bought at the same time as the bed and we surprised her. She just loves her Barney bed!
