Well the nurse just left a message on my machine. My dr is out till friday

and I couldn't wait to hear. My dx A1c was 11.7 on 2/16/01, on 4/20 it was

6.7, today it is 5 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is an average BS of 90 !!!!!!!

Sorry to be jumping up and down but I am amazed. I was hoping for under 6 by

a tad. I think I can now add a few more carbs to my diet and be safe. I have

been very strict. I am one happy camper and I am feeling great. I am back to

mowing and doing yard work and boarding a few dogs. Life is good again.

Thanks Barb- I think you are right. When my second hbA1c came back she

called me herself and I could hear the excitement/disbelief in her voice.

This is when I told her I wanted to quit the Glucophage and she said go for

it! I feel so much better without that stuff. It just did not agree with me.

I had blood drawn yesterday to see what my newest A1c is. I can't wait to

find out.

***, you have done such a great job!! I think docs just don't get to

see this kind of motivation very often - at least that's what mine says.

Thanks Kim- doesn't it feel great? So great that I just got on the treadmill

(something I never do in the the evening!) I must be high :-)

That's terrific ! Your 5.0 is just a tad below my 5.2.

(high 5's....smack!)

, that is so great! Hate to say it, but it's been fun watching you test

and learn and slowly come to the conclusion that the lowcarbing worked for

you. It's as if we all could see a lightbulb go off over your head. I'm so

happy for you!

Thanks to all who gave me congratulations- I really appreciate it. I am

feeling so good I have gone back to mowing my 20 acres and running my dogs.

Even boarding 6 dogs this week! I had quit all that in feb. It feels great

to feel great!

I love this list- it has been a lifesaver for real.
