Guest guest
I was sent this by a reliable person. Am trying to find out about it from our computer people. Have you heard of this? I RECIEVED THIS E-MAIL TODAY . I FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS AND I DID FIND THIS VIRUS . I DELETED IT. LET ME KNOW IF YOU FIND IT TOO It was brought to my attention TODAY that a virus was on all of our computers. I do not know how long it has been on our computers, but Virus software can not detect it. It will not become active until June 1, 2001, at that point it will become active and will be too late. It wipes out all files and folders on the hard drive. This virus travels thru E-mail and migrates to the C:\windows\command' folder. To find it and get rid of it off of your computer, do the following because June 1st is just around the corner........I printed out the instructions. This is very disturbing to get the news and find that it's being spread through the computers. We get so many of these unfounded alerts, but this one is crucial to find....... Instructions to Delete the virus Go to the " START " button. Go to " FIND " or " SEARCH " Go to " FILES & FOLDERS " Make sure the find box is searching the " C: " drive. Type in; SULFNBK.EXE Begin search. If it finds it, highlight it. Go to 'File' and delete it. Close the find Dialog box Open the Recycle Bin Find the file and delete it from the Recycle bin You should be safe. The bad part is: You need to contact everyone you have sent ANY E-mail to in the past few months. I do not know how long this has been on our computers. DO NOT RELY ON YOUR ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE. McAFEE NOR NORTON CAN DETECT IT BECAUSE IT DOES NOT BECOME A VIRUS UNTIL JUNE 1ST. IT WILL BE TOO LATE THEN. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT OPEN THE FILE!!! ------------------- Part.001 follows ------------------- <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC " -//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN " > <HTML><HEAD> <META content= " text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 " http-equiv=Content-Type> <META content= " MSHTML 5.00.2614.3500 " name=GENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>You may want to check your system to see if this virus has infiltrated</FONT>.</DIV> <DIV> & nbsp;</DIV> <DIV> & nbsp;</DIV> <DIV><FONT size=4><FONT color=#0000ff><FONT face=Arial lang=0 FAMILY= " SERIF " >I RECIEVED THIS E-MAIL TODAY . Guest guest
DO NOT DO WHAT IS SUGGESTED HERE!!!! That file is a vital part of your operating system. It is not a virus. This is obviously was originated by some creep who just wants lots of people to screw up their computers. Don't forward this to hoax to anyone else. I know you didn't know , I'm not fussing at you at all... I just want to warn everyone not to delete that file. It will mess things up bad.
