Guest guest
Deb, Kathy, I thought this might interest the both of you. Resolution 119 Coverage of Children's Deformities, Disfigurement and Congenital Defects - The AMA clearly outlines the difference between " cosmetic " and " reconstructive " in Resolution 119 - as you can see in this document it is clearly states that " Cosmetic surgery (treatment) is performed to reshape normal structures of the body in order to improve the patient's appearance and self-esteem. " Whereas Reconstructive surgeries (treatments) can be " performed on abnormal structures to restore them to a more normal state.
