Guest guest
OK -- here's a message from Dee from August 1999 about the differences: Hi, basically the difference between Estrace and Premarin is: Estrace is considered the more 'natural' like our bodies produce (17 beta Estradiol) and is made from Soy, its found that it binds to our receptors identically the same as when we produce it ourselves. It also will leave the system within 2 to 3 days after stoppage. By the way, you don't necessarily have to use Estrace, you can get a generic as long as its the Estradiol 17 Beta. Premarin is made from Pregnant mares urine and is called a 'Conjugated Estrogen, and it's fine for horses, but not natural to us. IMHO, And this can take up to 3 Months to leave the system upon stopping usage. I will say tho that many women seem to be happy on this for what its worth. For me, I prefer the more natural one. (estrace) One other little side note, in the Nurses study, it was Premarin that the majority of the women were on and NOT Estrace that indicated the Breast Cancer scare, (tho they rarely tell you that) Quite a few doctors I've found didn't know the difference and said 'Estrogen is estrogen', but Basically there are 3 main types of Estrogen, but E2 (estradiol beta 17) is the predominant type that we produce pre menopause and helps keep us healthy and young.
