Guest guest
Hi Brande and all, Yes, i get burning pain from the acm1. It's always the top of my right foot, sometimes my whole back feels like it's sunburned, and sometimes, excruciating burning pain in the perineal area. I also have recently been getting burning needle type pains in my left fingers and toes. If it continues, i need to have a full spine survey mri to look for syrinx. It also could be nerves growing back, but that's doubtful, considering my condition has been on a fast downward spiral. Make sure you check with your physician on the burning pain, as it can be a sign of syrinx. Best of luck to you, ---------- > > To: chiariegroups > Subject: Feels like a Burn! > Date: Sunday, February 20, 2000 9:28 PM > > Hi, > > I am wondering if any of you have felt this before. Guest guest
Hi All, I can't believe you guys are talking about this. This has been happening to me for a long time. It feels like I have a horrible sunburn on the back of my neck and upper shoulder area and I have to take my shirt off. If I lean against anything it is much worse. Does anyone have any idea if this is chiari related and what might be causing it. This is so weird because I was beginning to think it was my detergent or an allergy but it isn't consistent enough to be those things. So what is it?? Love Ya Kathi/Pt Orchard.WA adamsk60@... Guest guest
If you guys are referring to an area of skin that's all of a sudden sensitive.. I get that too. It's normally on my upper arm and is an area of about 5 " X 3 " . It's been on my mid back near my left side as well. Lasts a couple of days and then is gone. Nothing to see on the skin, but is extremely sensitive to the touch or brushing with clothes. My husband who doesn't have ACM has had this happen as well. Guest guest
I have had a spot like that between my shoulderblades since forever it seems like, since 12/93 anyways. I cannot lean back against anything with my upper back or even have a breeze blow across it. My daughter once ran into me there and I dropped to the floor like a stone. It was as if my whole nervous system went haywire, overloaded, i couldn't move anything. I simply waited for the electrical sensations running through my nervous system to subside gradually. When I asked a nsg about this he said it was a trigger point. I don't know what that means, but I sure hate it! I sleep on my side and drive my car with a pillow behind my lower back to keep my upper back from connecting with the seat. Has anyone else had this to this extreme? What can be done about it if anything. I have to be careful not to have my back to anyone who is not aware of this problem, in case they feel like giving me a pat on the back.
