Guest guest
<<the only thing too much Synthroid does is make one jittery and sorta antsy and hyperactive...would you call that manic? and that's an indication that the dose is too high>> Vicki, The symptoms you mentioned are similar to a hypomanic episode... however, his was unfortunately a true manic episode, complete with some psychotic symptoms. Both of us have what is referred to as " refractory " Bipolar Disorder, which means it's difficult to control medically. It's a constant tightrope walk with our medication balance; the tiniest changes in our environments or chemically in our bodies can send us reeling either into depression or into a hypomanic or manic episode... getting too little sleep or not eating regularly, for instance. Antibiotics and Prednisone affect me in a big way. The Prednisone even causes hallucinations. Antibiotics make me very depressed, so if I'm on both, I end up with a " mixed state " which includes symptoms of both mania and depression at the same time. My blood sugar fluctuations also mess with my head and make my thinking foggy and confused, which is why I am on this list even though I'm not (yet?) diabetic. Thanks for writing ) BarbCat =^..^= Peace, Love and Light... http://www.wiredwizard.com/peacejoy !!! http://sleekcat.webjump.com Re: Re:Barb^cat (long again) > Hi, BarbCat, I'm glad the Synthroid/veggie thing got straightened out! > Now...about Synthroid causing mania...not too sure about that one, either but > I'm not bipolar so can't say for sure.. but IMHO (and from experience) ..the > only thing too much Synthroid does is make one jittery and sorta antsy and > hyperactive...would you call that manic? and that's an indication that the > dose is too high.
