Dr. Allan Gordon at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto was on our group for quite a

while earlier this year. I suggest you check the message archives for some of

his postings. I am sure that if you get in touch with him, he can give you some

good advice and references or perhaps he will be the one to help you.

Ora,

I stay in touch with Dr. Gordon from time to time. If

anyone needs to get in touch with him let me know and I

will let him know. He gave myself and a couple others a

copy of the paper that he just recently presented at a

conference.

Hi, Kristy.

I sent Dr. Gordon an email and told him that one of our members is trying to

find an excellent doctor in Toronto and requested that he send his address and

phone number along with an email address where he can be reached, in the event

it has changed. I hope to hear from him.

, could you explain a tad more about the white staining. I

have what looks white at the crease of the labia minora. Not spots,

but a line even after rinsing and rinsing.

With vulvar Lichen Dermatosis disorders (there are several types: Simplex,

Sclerosis, and Planus) the skin flakes off a lot and it becomes itchy. My

NP said it is similar to Exema or Psoriasis, just in the vulvar area. You

don' t see the flakes of skin, but they are there. This flaky skin has

something to do with the white patches, but I can't remember how she

explained it. The white spots do kind of look like something is on there,

but for some reason you can't wash it off. The most common spot for the

whitening of the skin is right where you say yours is - between the outer

and inner lips of the vagina, anywhere from the bottom all the way to the

top where the creases meet above the clitoris. Steroid ointment has helped

my itching a lot. Hasn't done much for my burning, but I suspect that is

due to the VV rather than the Lichen Dermatosis. Sounds like it might not

hurt for you to get checked out for Lichen. Are your white patches itchy at

all?
