Guest guest
Tess, I don't know if there are any vulvar specialists that he knows of in your area but here in ville there is one that is associated with Shands ville and I found out from someone else that his concept for treating vulvodynia is using vegetable oil and then if that doesn't work to do surgery. So what is your next step now and what did it feel like after he put the silver nitrate on you? I've heard of Silver Nitrate but not sure exactly what it looks like, etc. Also in relation to the DES did your mother's mother ever take it at one time? Guest guest
hi kristy! how was your visit with dr. london? are you feeling any better? im not sure who he knows in florida, but i'll definitely let you know who it is! i hope its not that vegetable oil guy hehe :/ i couldnt feel the silver nitrate when he put it on at all, but since he put it on i have felt much much better. i dunno if its just coincidence but the vv pain has gone down a lot since friday. i think my next step is to just wait for my biopsy results and to take all the pills he gave me. he also put me on micronor unfortunately, i swore i would never go on BC. i am so afraid of it! that is a very good question, i didnt even think of the possibility of my grandma taking DES. could that cause a defect in me? wow! thanks for mentioning that! take care tess > >Reply-To: VulvarDisordersegroups >To: VulvarDisordersegroups >Subject: Re: back from dr. davis/adenosis >Date: Sun, 19 Nov 2000 22:16:26 -0800 (PST) > >Tess, > >I don't know if there are any vulvar specialists that >he knows of in your area but here in ville >there is one that is associated with Shands >ville and I found out from someone else that >his concept for treating vulvodynia is using vegetable >oil and then if that doesn't work to do surgery. > >So what is your next step now and what did it feel >like after he put the silver nitrate on you? Guest guest
Dear Tess, I was just thinking last night that it really is probably time I take a visit to this Dr.. Although I really like the doctor I see now and have had some success and learned new ideas, I certianly am not close to normal yet. So, I was wondering If you could tell me how much it cost you to see him. Since I am in WI it certianly will not be covered by insurance. Glad you had a successful visit!! --- - krankheit wrote: > > > > hi everyone, im back from dr. davis. he says that i > have secondary > vestibulitis caused by vaginal adenosis, so my > vestibulitis is caused by > irritating discharge. i am reading about adenosis > now and i am confused, it > seems they only link it with women whose mothers > took DES before 1971, i was > born in 1980. does anyone know anything about DES > and adenosis? another > thing that keeps coming up is cancer, no one > mentioned anything about cancer > so i am wondering if there are different types of > adenosis? so anyways, dr. > davis says that adenosis is very easy to treat and > that i will probably > recover. this might be interesting for some of the > people on this list who > think their vulvodynia is related to discharge. i > was very impressed with > dr. davis, he is brilliant. it still makes me very > angry that i have been > to so many doctors and none of them caught on to > this, dr. davis picked up > on it in about 2 minutes. well if anyone wants to > know more just let me > know, or if anyone has any info about adenosis , i > am really starting to > worry about it. thanks :)tess > _________________________________________________________________________ > Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at > http://www.hotmail.com. > > Share information about yourself, create your own > public profile at > http://profiles.msn.com. > > __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hi Tess, Welcome back!! I'm sorry that I didn't say that the first time, but I'm glad that I have done so now. As for the visit with Dr. London it went ok and also as I expected. I ended up with another infection so she put me on IV antibiotics for 3 days. I started that nite after it only took one hour to get the approval. I finished up the antibiotics on Sunday a.m. and am in the process of trying to make an additional appt for a follow-up culture. What kinds of other pills did he give you besides the Micronor? I hope that all of them work for you. As for the DES connection I really don't know enough to be able to tell you if it skips generations or not. I guess the thing that you could do is to ask your grandma or Mom about it. Sorry that I can't be of more help. Oh before I forget I found out today that Dr. London is booked until the end of Dec, but they are going to try to work something for me. They had already by setting me up for the 6th but that date won't work out so I'm going to switch places with my mother and I will go on the 2nd. I will keep you posted on how things go. Talk to you later. Kristy __________________________________________________
Guest guest
hi! it costed 750$ for the office visit, he did lots of tests and spent almost 2 hours with me. you only have to pay half the day of your visit. take care, tess > >Reply-To: VulvarDisordersegroups >To: VulvarDisordersegroups >Subject: Re: back from dr. davis/adenosis >Date: Mon, 20 Nov 2000 17:37:31 -0800 (PST) > >Dear Tess, I was just thinking last night that it >really is probably time I take a visit to this >Dr.. Guest guest
hi kristy! i hope that infection clears up, when will you know for sure? did you have to do the IV at the hospital? the other stuff he gave me is zithromax, sporonox, and anusol suppositories. i havent started anything yet though, i am afraid of all of them and i dont want to take them :/ i hate taking new pills, especially the birth control. i am afraid i am going to have a heart attack, you know in those commercials where they tell all the side affects and one of them is increased risk for heart attack. i think i will probably start tomorrow though, i guess anything is better than hurting all the time! thats really interesting you brought that up about the DES, im definitely going to look in to that. i am having trouble finding info on it, other than the DES thing. take care ! :)tess ________________________________________________________________________________\ _____ Get more from the Web. Guest guest
Hi Tess, I will know if the infection cleared up when we take the other culture. Dr. London had me do them (IV antibiotics) at home but I let her know before they arranged everything that I didn't want to do it at home and of course she just had to ask why so I told her. Then I asked her to tell me what it would involve doing it at home, and the reason that I did ask that is b/c of the fact that I knew that she was going to win even though she asked me later if I would be agreeable to a 24 hour stay after we had talked about it in the room. I told her yes but then when I got the call at 10:30 saying it was all arranged there was no hospital admission involved. I've taken Zithromax, and Sporanox before. I've also used Anusol in the cream form. I did well on the Zithromax and the Sporanox. I wish that I knew what to say about the Micronor though. I've never taken it. Dr. London has me on Ovral b/c of the way that I take the pill to treat my endometriosis. I also understand your concern about the new meds. Does Dr. London know that you went to see Dr. , and if so what was her thought on it? I know that I had told her that several of the girls on the list were going to him (this was before I knew that you were definitely going) but that I would never even think about going even if I wanted to b/c he charges way too much to take care of a patient. How much did he charge you for the visit and tests? I'm sure that someone had asked that earlier but I can't remember who it was now. Also, it is my feeling that if you are that concerned about those meds that he gave you don't take them, and let him know that you are uncomfortable with taking them. Also if you will e-mail me privately I will tell you of a site that you can check out where this subject has been talked about before. On the issue of adenosis you might also be able to get some more info from Dr. London about it b/c she's always reading stuff so maybe she will know. And the same thing about the DES. Take care and let me know how things are going for you. Also my e-mail address is now thru Yahoo. I hope that I was able to help. ===== Kristy http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/Falls/4659/kristyspage.html __________________________________________________
