Guest guest
Contour integrals are Calc III, but Stieltjes and Lebesgue integrals are actually in Advanced Calculus/Modern Algebra. Unless you major in math (or go to graduate school for engineering and are especially masochistic), you won't run across them ever. > > > > > > > > Athena/The Integral > > > > __________________________________________________________ > > Looking for last minute shopping deals? > > Find them fast with Yahoo! Guest guest
Who sounds interesting? Your family, or the Stieltjes and Lebesgue integrals? I've been " taking one for the family " a lot myself. Being around people for days at a time makes me jumpy, even if (especially if?) they're family. Luckily, I can sneak away for a little bit when I need to, and because I can't really make small-talk, I'm not missed all that much. > > > > > > > > > > > > > Athena/The Integral > > > > > > > > __________________________________________________________ > > > > Looking for last minute shopping deals? > > > > Find them fast with Yahoo! Guest guest
yeah, I can't either (make small talk I mean) I've never been able to, and when I do say something, its usually like one subject, over and over and over again. My family makes fun of me all the time, because they'll mention one thing I'll have a response for, then when there on to a different subject (usually within 2 seconds) I'm still on the previous subject, for hours and hours afterwards. my family has never thought that as being autistic, they just think its shyness, but because I'm legally blind on top of that, they've always blamed my lack of social skills on my lack of eyesight. I think thats whats the most frustrating. Tom > Who sounds interesting? Your family, or the Stieltjes and Lebesgue > integrals? > > I've been " taking one for the family " a lot myself. Guest guest
yeah. For me it depends on the subject. When I know alot about a subject, I tend to repeat myself alot without noticing I do it, and go on and on about it, again not realizing I'm doing it. I also get the " shakes " when I get real excited about something. excited like happy excited. (shrugs) Usually, I try to get around this by trying to " mimic " what I hear other people do, like what my mom does for instance, but like my mom, she'll try to be funny by making little kid noises, or singing really badly trying to be funny ya know, which end up not being funny to other people, so then I end up looking stupid, Its like my feebal attempt to socialize in a light hearted manner with other people, my way of joking around I guess, but it just doesn't work very well, as really I'm just mimicking someone else instead of trying to learn how to socialize.. I guess I just don't get how, and when I try I just end up doing stupid things. Tom > --- In AutisticSpectrumTreeHouse <AutisticSpectrumTreeHouse%40yahoogroup\ s.com>, > " Tom Coburn " > > > Me too! Guest guest
Tom, I can not remember who, but someone on this site sent me some jokes and later a recommendation; only tell one joke in a given social situation. I take it as read that if you are asked for another then it is OK. Anyway I put this into operation and it worked a treat. --------------------------------- Support the World Aids Awareness campaign this month with Yahoo! for Good
