Guest guest
Hey, hey, JoAnn, you are alright! You made my day. One tip from an old " has been " can do wonders sometimes. I know, because everyone on this list taught me exactly what I told Phil, you, and anyone, else that could use it. In the beginning stages when they are SOoooo difficult a word here or there can do wonders. That is why I stayed on this list and am still here. There are many more just like me. I have never found anyone more stable and caring than Donna and , our Moderators. They steadily help all of us cope all the time. They are our special angels. I respect them enormously. If anyone could have told me that it would have saved years of fighting and fear.Just leaving the room and coming back in with a happy attitude 2 minutes later has done wonders for our relationship. And lots of smiling and laughing. I also validate whatever hallucination or even delusion he has.I think we are as happy as we can be living in lewy land. Yes the roller coaster is a hell of a ride downright scary! It is the stubborness that isnt seen by some people that is hard for me to deal with. My mother can be told almost anything by a stranger and she will accept it with out arguement. But she will ask me a question and I will answer it and she will not accept it or not hear me, or just ask again, or tellme the answer she thinks is correct but is nowhere close! And if our caregiver is near she will call out for her and ask her also ignoring any response that is not what she wants or expects to hear. But so well behaved for the stranger. What is increasingly frustrating for me is that most professionals we encounter dont know about LBD or if they say they do they really dont understand it. They dont see the constant battles that it takes to care for our loved one. And dont they as proffesionals know about elderly people bruise easily? My mother had bruises on the backs of he r hands from IV's and from where I would hold her hands to lift her from a chair but her hands have been bruised for 3 or more years!!! Her doctor has seen them and never suspected any abuse. > > > ------------------------------------ Welcome to LBDcaregivers.
