External Catheters were developed to lower the risk of damage to the uretha caused by the insertion of the intermittent catheters. External catheters are worn like a condom. The external catheter is connected to the drainage bag that is strapped to the leg. There are several ways to affix the external male catheter and sizes to choose from. Condom catheters are intended for a single time use and normal usage is between 24 to 48 hours. http://www.athomemedical.com/External-Catheters/External-Catheters.asp > > My Dad has LBD and my Mum is his primary carer. Guest guest
My aunt uses whatever brand of adult diaper she likes (that changes from time to time), and at night, she puts two liners inside the diaper. That helps quite a bit. She also puts a pad underneath Mom to catch anything that may leak. She also gets up at 6 AM, changes the diaper, and lets Mom sleep till 8:30 or so. Hope this is helpful in generating some ideas for your Dad. Regards from NY, Helene > > My Dad has LBD and my Mum is his primary carer.
