Guest guest
Band 31 is highly specific for Lyme. It is one of the bands removed from the standard Western Blot because it was being used in the failed Lyme vaccine. Band 34 is also specific for Lyme. Band 41 is cross-reactive for other spirochetes. There is no current vaccine available. People are getting re-infected with subsequent tick bites. If the whole spirochete does not produce immunity, I seriously doubt that a part of the spirochete will produce immunity. Anne M., BSN, MSN/IH, RNmcfighter@... Guest guest
ok I have done some reading and have some concerns, I know my youngest was hospitalized for weeks on end (the next one being tested for lyme) with a gram rod infetion, they never did figure it out. after reading up on some of the bands that showed in my son I have a few questions perhaps some on here can answer first off read up on spirochetes- will oxygen feed or kill this? we are getting ready to do some HBOT in a few weeks. it also talks about strep in this which our son has PANDAS that just got dxed with lyme. I assume these 2 combind in this area. we have been treating with clymindamycin daily, azithromyacin every 10th day and flucanzole and he is IGE defient. I am trying to peice all this together! I have an appointment with our LLMD next week and I am bringing in his list of suppliments ect to patch this altogether and we meet with our DAN the week after who is an immuniologist trying to figure out why we can not fix his IGE deficency. anyone ever peice any of this together. we have recovered him from Autism but his PANDAS is that LAST bit plaguing us and i KNOW somehow this all ties together. even reading I have some theoryies on how this plays in on his liver issues, and enzymes non producing issues,,,....biofilms, and lactose intollerence RE: ok got our lyme tests back today Band 31 is highly specific for Lyme. Guest guest
The numbers are high because he has been exposed to Borrelia burgdorferi, the bacterial spirochete that causes Lyme disease. And yes, it is possible that he was exposed in utero, given your history of tick bites and illness shortly before you became pregnant. The Lyme vaccine had a short life, from 1999 to about 2001, before it was pulled from the market due to “poor sales”. What they did not mention was the reason for the poor sales were the numerous reports of a Lyme-like illness that followed vaccination. Anne M., BSN, MSN/IH, RNmcfighter@... Guest guest
Lyme spirochetes do not like oxygen. They prefer a low oxygen environment. Many people have reported positive results with hyperbaric therapy, others have experienced flares in symptoms. It is possible that some of the infections that often accompany Lyme may love oxygen and thrive during hyperbaric treatments, which would result in a flare of symptoms. Two of the main suspects, in my opinion, are Bartonella and Babesia, since both of these organisms like to parasitize red blood cells. You might want to get him tested for infections before starting hyperbaric. Just be aware that testing results in many false negatives, similar to Lyme tests. Any test that depends on immune response is going to have false negatives, and PCRs are only accurate if you happen to capture an organism in the sample. Best to have a long chat with the LLMD before proceeding with oxygen therapy. Anne M., BSN, MSN/IH, RNmcfighter@... Guest guest
I have seen the reports that the Lyme vaccine was causing people to develop the symptoms of Lyme Disease. Guest guest
Currently, there is much controversy concerning Lyme. It's a bit scarey actually to see docs getting into trouble seemingly just for treating patients for Lyme. Due to this high controversy on how to diagnose and treat Lyme, Lyme test results will be interpreted differently by different practitioners. Of course, most on the Lyme forums beleive that Lyme is a long-term illness that is very difficult to treat. Special doctors called LLMDs or alternative health practitioners, like herbalists and naturopaths are recommended. Many of the recommended treatments are very similar to autism biomed treatments. From what I have seen, it appears that most LLMDs and naturopaths would call an Igenex positive Lyme test, positive for Lyme Disease if the patient has current symptoms. Symptoms of Lyme include just about every symptom out there because of the way it damages the immune system, rendering the whole body to work amiss. Love and prayers, Heidi N > > ok so it's unlikly that he GOT a lyme vaccination. so why would those numbers be so high, IF he has true lyme it would be from invitro I would think.
