This thread popped up a few days ago and I wanted to comment but got busy. At first when I heard about Reiki, I was skeptical. I was worried about bad energy, etc. But I am now a convert. I believe very much in Reiki energy. In fact I am now taking classes in it to learn more. I am experiencing it's amazing properties within my own body. I also did a Reiki session on and was able to determine which chakras were out of balance and balance them. He had a very bad day that day, emotionally, after the session he was happy and relaxed. He said it was kind of a "spiritual massage". He loved it. He now wants to learn it with me. You hear about Reiki and people talking to guides, etc. This is true, but when I do it I pray to Jesus and the angels he has sent to me and our healing guides that He has sent to me to help me bring forth His beautiful healing energy.

I know this thread is TABOO on most boards. So if you are new on this board, know that we are every accepting and positive towards all alternative treatments.

The truth is that I cannot wait to do a Reiki self healing on myself every night before bed. It is so relaxing, I have visions and can definitely feel the energy coming through my hands. My dreams are clearer and meaningful, I am more relaxed and less stressed. I am finding that I am looking more towards the positive than what is weighing me down. AND no more scary hallucinations at night!!!!

So I am all for it! But make sure your Reiki practitioner is a positive person and you get a good vibe from them when you meet them. THIS is very important.

Take care,

Tami

Kim,

I just wanted to mention (or probably you know this already) but you don't need

to pay somebody to do Reiki on your child, but you can learn and be able to heal

with Reiki if you take the first degree level (which is only 1 day class).

The first time I took my son to somebody who does Reiki was not very easy - my

son moves a lot and in general takes him a while to get used with somebody new,

so the Reiki session was complete disaster. I was advised to take the first

degree Reiki and do Reiki while he is asleep or simply only when he wants. This

works much better for us, because he is much more comfortable with me of course

than some stranger and now he knows that mommy's hands make him feel better and

he is initiating me to do Reiki on him when he needs.

Something else that I wanted to mention – being able to do Reiki on yourself is

also extremely beneficial not only for you but for your entire family, because

when you are calmer and more in peace with yourself your kids sense it and they

are also calmer. Just a thought I wanted to share... :)

Krassi... what a coincidence - I just contacted someone offering level one

courses prior to reading your message. Thanks for replying to my post :)

This is what I am doing as well. I took the Reiki 1 course. It is VERY important that we begin working on ourselves as parents. I know that most parents feel the drive and desperation to help the kids...forgetting about themselves. But I am more and more starting to believe that it MUST start with the parents. The beauty of taking Reiki 1 is that before you do any Reiki on others you need to do self healing sessions on yourself each day. Wow what a beautiful thing! Lock the door, get a mom time out and put healing energy into YOURSELF. It definitely helps to balance you out so you can be more level headed, balanced to help your kids.
