Martha, I have gone to those microfiber bras. They

don't really have alot of support, but then, I am not

huge at all in that dept. I too find that anything

that is restrictive causes itchiness. I can't wear

socks that cling too tightly, I have to wear slouch

socks, I wear denim and company cotton stretch pants,

which are supercomfortable, and I wear cotton tops,

mostly sweaters, and then I wear a turtleneck under it

with no bra or a stretchy bra

Carol, at new years we had a fancy dinner dance, and I

bought this nice sparkly grey/silver dress, but needed

to get my tummy tucked in so I got one of those

longline support panties....well, 2 hours into the

evening, I found myself in the bathroom shedding it

and throwing it away. I felt more comfortable after

that and decided I am not going to make myself

uncomfortable for the sake of fashion and what the

public might think. I am in it for COMFORT...mine!

Martha,

I wear cotton bras too when the itching is driving me crazy. It's real embarrassing to have to hide in the store to scratch...there. Often I wear cotton sports bras. They don't do much for a persons figure, but when you in our shoes - WHO CARES.

Good luck finding the right garment.

Carol,

I can relate to things being uncomfortable. I don't remember a time that I was as uncomfortable as I am now. I started buying a differnt type of jeans that are looser and tend to have a lower waist on them. I can't stand anything putting any pressure on my abdomen; it's painful and makes me nauseated. I make myself attempt to get ready, most days, despite my lack of energy because I am afraid if I ever stop trying one day I'll find that I just can't. I always shower and make myself get dressed as if I were going out (no sweats), but I don't always get around to fixing my hair and makeup. Often it is too much like work.

When I do go out I am more particular about my makeup because I don't want people to look at me and see yellow or paleness on me. I guess most days I pull it off pretty well, as friends keep telling me I look good. (Which makes it hard for them to comprehend I am ill.) My family can tell the difference though, since they see me as I am naturally. Poor family!

Good luck finding comfy clothes.

Oh! I am wanting ideas on this too!! I also have the problem that the bras tend to be in the area where I hurt a lot. My abdomen mostly stays swollen these days and about the only thing comfortable is a maternity dress. :-(

Does anyone else find it hard to get the energy to get ready to go anywhere, then when you do have the energy, it is as if you just do not want to deal with all the discomforts of being out? Or just hate for people to see you how you look now?

Nowadays I only go out when I absolutely have to. This is kind of hard for me as I am used to having been a very active and social person.

Martha,

There are some sports bras (not with spandex) but all

cotton that give a little support but are more

comfortable. I've bought them even at target.

To the women in this group who are having trouble

finding comfortable bras, for a few days last month,

it was uncomfortable for me to wear a bra, too, so I

sent my husband to a fabric store for a bra back

extender, which I used to make the bra band looser and

much more comfortable until the discomfort went away.

Now, my problem is a flareup of acne, but I still go

out in public. I have been so irritated by problems

with my Internet service provider (now my former

provider), so perhaps stress is what caused my face to

break out. Also, I had just gone to a new dentist for

the second time and developed a cold sore on the side

of my mouth where he and the hygienist were working.

In addition to pressure on that side of my lip, I also

wonder if I " caught something " at the dentist's

office. Has anybody else noticed how much more effort

the staff takes to protect themselves, rather than

their patients, from disease? In my opinion, they act

like they are following sound guidelines but

definitely protect themselves and somewhat protect

their patients.

I do, I find it hard to do /go anywhere these days what with the extreme fatigue and bowel problems. In fact I hardly go out at all except to do a bit of shopping once a week. I get most of my groceries via the internet and have it delivered, so useful. :~) By far the most times I go out is to Doctors or the hospital for check-ups. Social life is non existent. sadly.
