Wendi,

Roxanne has a prominent lazy right eye, that whenever she was at her

worst or symptomatic the eye was always more noticeable. It improved

after each surgery for her Chiari.

Her vision seems fine, but to get a nearly three year old to articulate

if she is having vision problems is impossible.

This concerns my son who describes the following:

When he is looking straight ahead and holds his head in that same position while looking to the right or looking down to the right, he first sees a double image which expands to as many as eight images if he maintains same position. Has anyone experienced this symptom? His right eye seems to go off track at times, veers to the right. Since I first posted, he has had another MRI in anticipation of an appointment with Dr. Oro. We will appreciate any information regarding this phenomenon(sp).

Regards, in Oklahoma

My husband and both his daughters have " lazy eye. " (His granddaughter

too)

The youngest daughter recently went for her annual check up at the eye

doctor, and she asked him to check her eye, as it seems to have

corrected itself, but she wanted to be sure. (It has, for many years

been " corrected " from all the exercises she had to do).

Anyway, here's the interesting part: The eye doctor told her that she

would notice if it weren't straight, because she'd have double vision.

Wow. It never occurred to me before then that the two were linked, but

it does make sense. Rick has had double vision " and " lazy eye since he

was a young child. Guess I shouldn't say " and " anymore....if the

double vision really is just a symptom of the lazy eye!

My point (finally) is that if your son was trying to look straight

ahead and his eye drifted off, it would cause double vision. However,

I have to wonder if the " lazy " eye itself isin't a symptom of ACM?

Just my thoughts.
