Guest guest
Hello First, I want to thank everyone for a wonderful " welcome " I only wish I had time to post something before now. I have been able to read your posts and follow your journey for the last few weeks and it has been a wonderful experience. Its been a long few weeks, and super long 9 days. My mother in-law Kay was getting worse with all of her " lbd " issues but 9 days ago she went into the ER because she was moaning in pain and she has lost most of her ability to speak so we were not able to ask her what hurts and get a good answer. The hospital ran a ton of test and sent her home with nothing wrong. The next day she started becoming more unconscious sleeping 18 hours at a time and then being very combative when awake, more then normal. And refusing any food or fluids. We have seen her primary Dr. and he thinks her body is shutting down. He has called Hospice in to do an evaluation and they have said that she is ready for Hospice to start coming in. As of today she has not eaten in 9 days, she has had less then 10oz fluids in 9 days and she is refusing to take any of her medication. she recently slept for 22 hours woke up for 20 min and slept for another 13 hours she is still sleeping now. As all of this is very hard for myself, my husband, and my two kids ages 11 and 8 to watch it has been a blessing to have her home with us. As I feel we lost her months ago when her mind truly left It is still sad to see her body starting to leave now. My question for you is any advise about taking the Hospice road? Any advise about the last few weeks? days? Does this sound like the normal " LBD " way to go? They are thinking about using moraphine but worried about the reaction, Has anyone expereinced a reaction to this RX? Mostly any advise and helpful tips would be appreciated. Thank you Allie My mother in-law Kay was diagnosed 7 years ago with " AZ " and was recently diagnosed with " LBD " 4 months ago. She has lived in our home for the last few years. We experienced the hard way about lorazapam and many of the other NO-NO drugs, she is now on seraquil and depekote.
