Guest guest
I also get attacks at night when I am sleeping. Very strong vertigo spells that I feel if I don't wake myself up I will die. It then goes right into my stomach and makes me nauseous. My eyes roll back and the heart races strong and painful. Any of you have had this type of problem? Guest guest
Mine usually comes on when I am fast asleep, and don't ask how I wake up when the attacks occur! I don't know how! Does he also shake it off and have to get up? - Re: Re: Attacks of breathing/jolting awake while sleeping P.S. Does is happen within about 30 minutes of falling asleep? The way you describe feeling like you are going to die if you don't wake up is so familiar! P.S. My husband calls me Sweetpea! LOL! Guest guest
I wish that I had more answers for you. I have always had these strange attacks and noone can quite understand why I have them. I hate them, I really do. They scare the daylights out of me. How does your daughter get out of them, may I ask? And yes, usually afterwards I do not want to go back to sleep. Does she also get nauseous afterwards, I do! - Re: Re: Attacks of breathing/jolting awake while sleeping This is exactly what my daughter was trying to tell me. Can you explain more in detail how you feel. She says her body is going to quit fells like she is going to die. Afraid to go to sleep. breathing slows everything does. this must feel terrible. Guest guest
Hi all, before I had surgery, I would jolt up either gasping or choking, and would scare me to death, then would set off the panic button, sometimes I would not go back to sleep and would stay up the whole next day and night until I was so worn out I would fall asleep, I can tell you it happened the most durning that time of month..... well I had several sleep studies done, did have apnea, had another one after surgery was alittle worse, I am on a c-pap machine, which I don't use it like I should, and I take klonopin and it has helped alot, don't know if it was I had gained some weight (I am assuming that is the reason) I was told by Dr Kula (neurologist in NY) even a tiny bit difference could cause snoring. I have only jolted awake 1 or 2 times since surgery, so I would say it corrected some of it, I still snore like a buzz saw, but you can't have everything, right? take care all PamH ACM
Guest guest
Hi, I'm tired so here is my answer: yes almost the exact same thing and I have not had this since a few days after surgery. I guess I assumed it was some apnea episodes--but maybe not. Meribeth in MI Attacks of breathing/jolting awake while sleeping > >Hi, > before my surgery I had this exact same thing happen to me almost every >night and sometimes several times a night. I would get this adrenalin (sp?) >rush (as I call it) and awake to heart racing, gasping for breath........I have >been told it was panic attacks but I have had those before also and it wasn't >quite the same as that. My hubby also would say just before I would awake to >these episodes my body and or certain parts (a leg or arm) would be jumping >around or spazzing out as he would say and then I would awake to an >episode......he has witnessed several of these episodes. > Since surgery I have not had a full episode as explained above but >have experienced a jolting awake with an adrenalin rush of sorts but instead of >my whole body being involved I just feel it in my head and neck.....does that >make sense ?? Anyway, it is not as bad as before and less >frequent. ((((hugs)))) > Sam > ><<Like I am starving for oxygen>> .Does it happen right after (within about >30 minutes) of your falling asleep? I wake up shortly after I fall asleep and >feel like I am having a panic attack-heart racing, gasping for breath, room >spinning like I am going to pass out.
