Mild LBD?

I would love to connect with someone in the early stages of this disease; it

seems to me that most of the people posting are dealing with full blown LBD. My

Mom has been tentatively diagnosed with LBD after a two-year diagnosis of

Parkinson's. With her tremors under control on Sinemet, she had extremely vivid

dreams with nightly yelling out and sometimes punching, but was so weakened that

it didn't cause a physical danger to herself or others. Following this, she

developed myonoclus (SP?) with overall muscular jerking and falling which was

diagnosed as low blood pressure related. At that point we reduced her sinemet

and added fludrocortisone to raise her bp and the myonoclus disappeared and the

nightly vivid dreams virtually disappeared (or at least the acting out did).

The only hallucinations she has had occurred when she was in the hospital for a

severe flu virus, however she embellishes events or combines events when

recounting and is positive that she is being accurate, so it is easier to just

go along with her. Her confusion is more daily than long term - she has a hard

time looking ahead and gauging the time, an event promised for three weeks for

now will be asked about daily until it happens. The most obvious dementia is

that while she used to be the center of conversations, she now mostly listens,

and when she does speak up to add a point she frequently loses her train of

thought before she can complete more than a couple of sentences and says she

can't remember what she wanted to say. When she had severe myonoclus she also

would have aphasia. Since reducing the Sinemet though it seems that her tremors

are actually diminishing somewhat in their severity and she is much more mobile

- sometimes forgetting her walker - and much more alert, although she still

sleeps about 14-16 hours a day. Could this be a misdiagnosis, something other

than LBD? Or do other people have this type of progression/symptoms in the

early stages? If so, what was your experience with the progression and

timeline? Any help or advice would be most appreciated, we have a big 80th

party celebration coming up for Mom at the end of the month and she has been so

fixated on it that I am a bit concerned about what will happen when the

inevitable let down occurs after it is all over. Thanks,
