Guest guest
With different docs or labs I sometimes see different normal values. One in particular that stands out for me is ACTH. Locally, 2 different major endo facilities have the following normal ranges: 5-46 and 9-52 for ACTH. Do these different values have anything to do with the testing methods. For example, the first value above is where I was first tested. My blood value was 7.82, therefore the doc said I was fine. But obviously if I had gone to the other place first, 7.82 would have not been OK and maybe I would have received treatment for my adrenals 2.5 years ealier. Or, are the second set of values higher and therefore my own blood values would have been proportionately higher as well because of the testing method (did that make sense??).
