Guest guest
have you done a temp graph per www.drrind.com ? This will tell you pretty squarely if your adrenals are struggling or not. Can yo increase your Armour? The symptoms you are describing sound mainly hypo, but can be caused due to the thyroid not getting into the cells from low cortisol. I do not feel a month trial with Isocort will hurt you. But you need to increase ti slowly to avoid a thyroid dump then stay on a steady dose for at least 2 weeks to know if it is working. And without knowing how bad your adrenals are it may be inconclusive as it might not be strong enough for you. In this case you will not know if your adrenals are bad or it is something else due t not having the labs in hand. But knowing this I think I would try the Isorcrt in your stead anyway, but that is just me. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
I think Val can advise you better, . I did want to mention that I have been going downhill as well. I decided to again try T3 along with my Armour and it seemed to get me the jolt I need. I don't know if this will last or not but I took half my dose of Armour and added 10 mcg of T3 to that in addition to my HC. It was like a light being turned on. -- Desperate to feel better Hi all, my first post in this forum! I'm a memember of the NTH and STTM forums and have posted similar questions but wanted to direct my question purely to the adrenal forum. Started armour at the end of June, am now up to 3 grains (1 1/2 prescribed and 1 1/2 self treated). While I do feel better than I did, I'm still not up to par and really starting to feel desperate about all of it. I thought that by now I would be feeling ALOT better. I'm still having a big problem with weight gain, I've really started watching what I'm eating and attempting walks 3 times a week (if the time allows) and still gaining almost a pound a week give or take. My hair is going to be all gone if it continues to fall out as it has been. The armour has helped the frizziness alot and I have hopes that at least that will be solved. My sex drive is nil and while my husband has been understanding I'm not sure how long anyone can continue like this. I'm having quite a bit of joint pain, mainly when I get out of bed (I hobble) and after sitting for more than 1/2 hour or so when I get up it really hurts. Now my hand has started hurting like I have arthritis or something (I'm only 39!). The past couple days were pretty stressful and I barely got thru them. Crying one minute, laughing another. And, I noticed during this time my lower back was killing me. All my weight gain seems to be in the gut and the butt. I'm very jumpy, and don't like anyone (including my husband) to even touch me. Hard to explain but it's causing me so much stress. I don't want to go anywhere, just stay home and rest. What the heck is happening to me!? What I'd like to know is would taking hc/isocort without testing be adviseable? As I've said on the other boards, I live in NY state so I can't order tests, my dr. won't prescribe them either. I did have someone offer to get me the tests and then mail them from her house in land but this wouldn't be until Christmastime and honestly, I feel I'll be dead by then...I'm that stressed and desperate. Would it hurt me to try isocort for a couple weeks to see if there's any change? I'm pretty afraid of feeding myself " steroids " because of all the bad side effects, I definately don't want to make matters worse. But, I can't go on like this much longer either. I need a solution. One of the girls over on NTH helped me by trying to interpret my hormone levels but I had a hysterectomy and have no idea where my cycle is so was almost impossible to get any ideas there. I do know my testosterone is 0.5 which to me might as well be 0. It sure feels like zero but I'm afraid to try anything without my dr. knowing. So, what do you guys think. SHould I just stick with the armour and hope for the best or would trying isocort be worth it? Any help or advice would really be appreciated. in NY
Guest guest
Toward the end of August I charted temps for 9 days - 97.6,98.2,98.3,98.4,97.9,98.2,97.9,97.9,97.8. That's an average of 3 times a day. Would it be ok to increase the armour? I've only been on 3 grains for about 2 weeks. Do the temps look more hypo than adrenal? If I were to try a trial of isocort, should I follow your instructions on the STTM website? Or go slower? What would clue me into the isocort either not working for me or causing harm? Before I order I'll wait to hear from you again on the temps and your thoughts. I also figure I'm low on ferritan (would you believe the doc said not necessary to test?) so have started slowly adding more iron (only about 32 mgs extra a day) because I'm so afraid of constipation, even that small amount is making me nauseous if I don't eat alot with it. > > have you done a temp graph per www.drrind.com ? Guest guest
I understand where you are coming from - I have been sick with hypoT and adrenal fatigue and iodone deficiency for many years! Since I found this forum I started on Armour 1 grain (now raised to two) but my Chiro got Standard Process (I think that is the company) adrenal support and Idoral for me, and I have been doing very well so far. I saw when I first joined this and the sister sites on Yahoo that many who just took Armour, and also had adrenal issues, didn't do well on Armour alone, so I talked with my Chiro, who dx'd me with adrenal fatigue a few years ago, but funds were non-existant, so I lived with it until recently. After joining here and seeing how so many didn't do well on Armour alone I got adrenal support and Idoral (iodone/iodide) first, then added the Armour. It has been working well for me so far; even with upping the Armour to 2 grains I have had no ill effects, for which I am quite grateful. I had some palps, but I was getting those anyway, so that was no big deal, and they didn't increase, so am not too concerned. I will be getting blood tests again per my doc's instructions after having been on Armour 1 month (he put me on 1 grain, but I raised it to 2 without telling him, not sure if I will or not as he doesn't approve of Armour, but is willing to try it for me). I will post my results with ranges after they fax them to me at work; I always ask for copies and it has never been a problem - he knows that this is my body and my tests and knows that I want to have them. Guest guest
Thanks for your thoughts , I spent most of the day crying today because I just don't know what to do. I don't have the money to go dr. to dr, nor the time and patience. I hope we ALL feel better soon. > > I understand where you are coming from - I have been sick with hypoT and adrenal fatigue and iodone deficiency for many years! Guest guest
No Val, wasn't on any adrenal support (nor have I ever been). So, do you think supplementing isocort might give me a boost? Should I use your dosing schedule or do less than that? You had mentioned rasing my armour too (I'm on 3 1/2 now, I believe I was at 3 when I took these temps), I've only been on 3 1/2 for 2 weeks, should I still raise or just try the isocort for now? Confused, can ya tell? I'm seriously so desperate to feel better and at the end of my rope. I'm so sorry to hear of your pain, I hope it passes soon. That definately doesn't sound comfortable, you're in my prayers. Thanks again for any help you can offer! I really want to help myself the best I can! > > >>97.6,98.2,98.3,98.4,97.9,98.2,97.9,97.9,97.8. << > > These look fairly hypo to me, but there is some adrenal stress in there as well. Guest guest
Are you having any hyper symptoms at all with Armour raises? If not I would try another raise. If you get palps, breathing difficulties or high pulse, then the Isocort would probably be better to try first. Your temps do not show bad adrenal fatigue just weakness, so if possible I think just armour would be best., Do you take sea salt? This is something very safe to take to help your adrenals, and vitamin C and the B vitamins. DHEA may also help give you some energy just watch for any signs of acne which would tell you to back off DHEA as you are getting too much androgen effects from it. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
No, I haven't had any problems raising. This last raise to 3 I felt a little funny for a day or two, I wouldn't say palps or anything like that just like I had too much caffeine or something...so, maybe I'll try a 1/2 grain raise and see what happens? I don't do sea salt, can you recommend where to get it and how much? I'll watch it with the DHEA, I did get a zit today but I really think it's from all the stress the past few days. I'm really hoping it will boost my testosterone...this no sex drive thing is just awful too!!!! > > Are you having any hyper symptoms at all with Armour raises? If not I > would try another raise. Guest guest
I get my sea salt from here: http://www.celticseasalt.com/ But any good unrefined sea salt tis fine. I just take 1/2 tsp in a glass of orange juice twice a day. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
