Guest guest
Hi , My one piece of advice for you if you think food allergies may be your problem, is: don't do an exclusion diet half heartedly! The reason is that susceptible people can become allergic to pretty much any food they eat a lot of, and your symptoms will not disappear unless you exclude ALL the foods you are allergic to from your diet. If you exclude one thing, then another, 6 weeks later you may not be any better, and you will give up the diet not knowing whether it didn't work because you didn't exclude the right food, or because food allergies are not what is causing your problem. I know this from EXPERIENCE - the exclusion diet is very hard to stick to, so if you are going to do it, you want to get it right first time. Please get hold of a copy of this book: " Food Allergies and Food Intolerance : The Complete Guide to Their Identification and Treatment " by Brostoff & Gamlin ISBN 0892818751 And follow their advice on the diet. I wish someone had given ME this advice before I tried an exclusion diet; it would have helped a lot! Good luck, andrea xxx
Guest guest
Your symptoms sound exactly like the allergic reactions I have to foods too, sudden onset of diarrhea after eating, itchy bum, then later on red, burning, itching vulva. I agree with though...you can't do an elimination diet half- way. You need to avoid any and all foods you might be allergic to for 1-3 weeks then reintroduce them one by one to see which one(s) are the problem. So you need to just eat meat, veggies, and fruit (but no citrus), and to insure you aren't accidently getting any wheat or corn you'll need to prepare them yourself. I know it sounds really hard but that is the only way you are going to be able to tell on your own if you have food allergies. in SF > Ok I was doinng just fine then 2 nights last week I had flare ups of burning. > My entire vulvar area had looked like it was sunburn. Guest guest
One of the first things that my support group contact person asked me was whether I am a vegetarian b/c she wanted to know if I eat lots of soy products. She said that soy is a major irritant and is common among our group members, many of whom are vegetarians. FYI. Sorry about your pain. -- --- blueeberri@... wrote: > Ok I was doinng just fine then 2 nights last week I > had flare ups of burning. > My entire vulvar area had looked like it was > sunburn.
