Guest guest
Hi Heidi, Also, Asofaetida is another aruvedic herb that is wonderful for detoxifications. It isnt an adoptogen persay, but it has naturally occuring plentiful amounts of sulfur. Mostly used in soups, broths, and for cooking. Misty ashwagandha - must read We started taking ashwagandha recently and the results have been amazing! I thought it was just adrenal support, but it's doing much more than that for us. I did some Googling to learn why i'ts doing so much for us. I am pretty much speechless on it's effects (brain energy, body energy, calmness, loss of rages, etc.). I can't help but wonder if this needs to be the new cod liver oil or turmeric for our autism population or for others with chronic conditions. We have done many things during the last 4 years, but this stuff may be the most amazing thing yet. http://www.lef.org/magazine/mag2006/jun2006_report_ashwa_01.htm Love and prayers, Heidi N
Guest guest
Very interesting Heidi. Can you share which brand you are using and at what dosage? Guest guest
The first day I took one pill. I got die-off and was surprised about it. It didn't last but a couple of days. I did not notice die-off in the other family members. My die-off was fatigue, but realize that die-off is different per person. After the couple of days, I noticed lots more energy. It then kind of tapered off. I ramped up to three capsules twice a day, and it felt so good, that I kept it. I feel so alive at that dose. I say alive because it's both mental and physical energy and just feeling back to my old self. One of the family members had been improving, one with rages that I have been struggling for years to combat. I was thinking the improvements were due to other treatments her doc had her on. She had been started on 4 new treatments recently. All mild. I don't use strong things. Anyhow, when I ran out of Ashwagandha, her anger symptoms returned. Upon re-supplementing the Ashwagandha, her anger left again. I then re-Googled Ashwagandha. I learned that it not only kills various pathogens, but also improves nerve conductivity and normalizes other various bodily dysfunctions. I am also noticing daily improvements so it appears to work like this: initially small die-off, then immediate improvements for some, then improvements that continue. Keep in mind that some may not improve due to various reasons. We are still doing our other treatments, so we are still dependent upon treatments in general. I have currently used Planatary Herbals and Paradise Herbs brands. I have not noticed much of a difference between them as far as effects. I mostly use Paradise Herb brand for my supplements and use other brands when I need to make a purchase at my local health food store. I used 3 capsules twice a day no matter which brand I was using. The other family members use doses according to weight and age, from one to three pills twice a day. Twice a day did make a big difference as compared to only once a day. I have not seen reports that Ashwagandha is toxic, but I recommend consulting with your health-care practitioner as I always do when mentioning treatments for both your and my protection. Guest guest
I've been taking Ashwagandha (Ayush Herbs brand) for about a year now - two capsules, two times a day (per ART testing). I remember it impacting my energy pretty quick when I first started it. It continues to be a big "wow" for me - if I miss my afternoon dose I feel it - brain fog sets in. Sad how much I need it - great how well it works. The first day I took one pill. I got die-off and was surprised about it. It didn't last but a couple of days.
