In case anyone overlooked it, there was a link in the last of the three articles below which was for a NY Times article in October that is very revealing about the Tribune Co.Here it is again:http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/06/business/media/06tribune.html?_r=1It explains a lot about their editorial decisions and outlook on running the newspaper. Set in this context, printing the lyme article fits their corporate character.

Did these "reporters" work for Forbes too? Very similar style. Here are articles about the Tribune and its owner:Tribune files for bankruptcy: http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2008/12/tribune-files-for-bankruptcy.htmlBackground on owner, real estate magnate Sam Zell: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_ZellLawsuit in bankruptcy: http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2010/11/23/uncensored-lawsuit-coming-vs-tribune-execs/
