Guest guest
Agnes, Regarding money, business and organic produce. In general, trust business; don't trust governments. Private enterprise has incentive to communicate more truthfully; governments have loads of money and little incentive to be responsible, wise or honest with it. Organic farming is basically "intensive farming". Of course individual plants are going to be bigger and healthier. What suffers is overall production. Land used for organic production is wasted in terms of feeding the most possible people. But, of course, farmers should have the right to use their land however they want. Also, sometimes pathogenic bacteria get on the plants from all the manure. There are many sides to this issue and a lot of the anti-organic messages are true. My point: Don't necessarily mistrust big business; don't necessarily trust organic. Besides, organic farming IS big business. The traditional mistrust of money and business is likely responsible for the bloating of the government and its resulting corruption; people don't think business is honest enough to do the job, so they petition the government to do it for them - that's now being seen as a BIG mistake. Just my opinions; hopefully not too off-topic. -Mark ----- Original Message ----- From: Agnes gallstones Sent: Sunday, August 26, 2001 6:20 AM Subject: Re: interesting article At 00:50 26.08.2001 +0000, you wrote:>not directly related to gallstones, but still very interesting:>http://www.quackwatch.com/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/organic.htmlThis article presents a lot of truth, most people knows that.Where there is money, there is fraud.
