Guest guest
Hamerreda, Have you had your growth hormone checked as well as thyroid? Lots of what you describe are symptoms of growth hormone deficiency which goes along with mercury toxicity. Do you have Dr. Cutler's book? He talks about the growth hormone deficiency in there. Can you have a doc run your IGF1? If so, anything under 160 is considered quite deficient. I have a mercury problem too, plus very low adrenal, plus low thyroid, plut HGH deficiency. I am addressing the hgh deficiency with natural means. Help with adrenals. Hello i am new here, first off i must say i have a low cortisol, and adrenal/thyroid suppresion. I am always cold,i have both cold hands/feet. I have thinning brittle hair, sometimes tightening of chest wall, anxiety, along with lack of concentration, and focus, and absolutely no energy or will to do anything. I am relatively always sad,and i beginning to have phobias of almost everything,as i cannot fly,or drive long distances anymore. ottom line i need help,as my well being is getting worse, and i seem to be running out of time. Some days i somehow function somewhat ok,but i still do not feel normal. Btw i am mercury toxic, which should explain causes of my symptoms. Guest guest
" within reference range " doesn't mean anything here. We need you to post the actual results and the reference range next to it. This way we can interpret them. Docs will tell you TSH is normal and there's nothing wrong with you. TSH is a useless test for diagnosing hypothyroidism. Post everything you have and all the numbers please. Guest guest
My first growth hormone lab for IGF-1 was 84, and mainstream docs did not consider it deficient. I got up to 135 with growth hormone injections. I don't know how the " anything under 160 is deficient " can be valid. Women, due to estrogen lowering growth hormone, does not allow a high IGF1 when deficient and replacing with GH. Most women diagnosed with adult growth hormone deficiency, are very lucky to get their IGF-1 up to 100 or 150. So when I got mine up to 135 I felt so much better than when it was at 84, that was a good number for me. I was never able to get it above 135 even after 4 years of replacement. Men are able to get their IGF-1 levels above 200 due to testosterone, and often they have to take testosterone in order to get the IGF-1 up. It is very age dependent as well. 160 would be very good for a woman my age (51) but very bad for a woman in her 20s or 30s. -- Re: Help with adrenals. Guest guest
In my experience with growth hormone deficiency, frequent infections, loss of muscle mass, fat stomach, increased body fat, sleeplessness, anemia, headaches, no stamina, inability to exercise without becoming exhausted the next day. I have been using recombinant growth hormone since 2001. Just a small increase from an 1gf-1 of 84 to 100 the to 134, turned my life around. Unfortunately I have Lyme and mercury toxic. Got the Lyme treated, removed the mercury, but got contaminated with mercury even tho my doc used the oxygen and precautions. So my adrenals and hormone production was nil for a long time and still is. -- Re: Help with adrenals. which symptoms are growth hormone deficiency? i've never been tested for it but i have similar symptoms. Guest guest
If anyone can find a doc who will even prescribe growth hormone they are very lucky. I tried to get the stim test for years and was denied by endocrinologists and my insurance. I finally opted to go out of state and got the diagnosis and prescription. That endocrinologist lost her license but fortunately my Lyme doc will prescribe GH for me. Insurance companies try to exclude that diagnosis. -- Re: Help with adrenals. > > Hamerreda, > > Have you had your growth hormone checked as well as thyroid? Guest guest
I had to go to a doc who my insurance would not pay for but in the end, it was worth it. Heck, it has been cheaper to pay cash for my doc visits then to file an insurance claim. I end up paying so much for procedures that are basically worthless. Did you say you have mercury toxicity? Guest guest
Men have a higher IGF-1 than women. 200 is a good level for a man of 50. I would be happy with 160 or even 140 at age 51. 160 is not very deficient, in fact, it is not deficient at all for a woman of age 50 or so. I am not sure where your are getting that number, but for a woman to have 160 at age 50 would be unusual and very lucky. I was told I was not deficient by one lab with an IGF-1 of 84. That lab had a cut off point of 80. Now another lab is saying I am high at 170. I felt terrible at an IGF-1 level of 84. Having had different levels at different times and using injectible GH for the past 4 years, dose is very individual. My symptoms of GH deficiency stopped at an IGF-1 level of about 135. Now at over 150, I do not feel any better so for me, anything above 125 or so is right for me. I have been as high as 164 with not feeling any better than at IGF-1 of 130. You cannot judge your gh level by a males gh level. Men and women will never have the same testosterone needs or growth hormone needs. Not sure why you are saying that ideally anyone should have an IGF-1 of 200 for quality of life. IGF-1 is age dependent so 200 would be very very low for a 20 year old but on the high end for a 50 year old, and that depends on sex. -- Re: Help with adrenals. Guest guest
You might feel a difference getting your IGF-1 up to 125, however, if you are replacing estrogen, this will be very hard to get the IGF-1 up. -- Re: Help with adrenals. > > Ideally, IGF1 should be at least 200 for real quality of life. Guest guest
Which ? I have never taken homeopathic gh since it does nothing. GH is like insulin, you must inject it. You cannot benefit from a homeopathic GH and secretagogues are unreliable. The only reliable secretagogue was ghrelin and it was taken off the market. It was also injectable and is used for lab testing. -- Re: Help with adrenals. In a message dated 15/09/2006 12:22:48 GMT Daylight Time, skg59@... writes: anything under 160 is very deficient.
