calcarea has slow dentition as part of the remedy picture - although may not be the best suited for other children with delayed dentition.

unlike conventional medicines, homeopathic remedies aren't specific meds for specific symptoms, e.g. take nat-mur for a headache, take lycopodium for indigestion & bloating, take chamomilla for teething pain. instead, homeopath will prescribe a remedy that takes all the symptoms into account - the physical, mental and emotional 'picture'.

i just feel i should mention this in case you decide to prescribe calcarea or calc-phos and it has no effect - this will be beacuse it's not your child's simillium on any level.

Wow that is really interesting. My son held onto his baby teeth for years past when they should have fallen out. Then it took forever for the adult teeth to descend, delaying the braces. He also had a huge overbite, the worst his orthodontist has treated. Can anyone speculate why a kid would have such a delay in his adult teeth coming in? You could be right when you said that one remedy may not work for everyone but

if I didn't try what worked for so many other kids (according to many parents

reports) my son wouldn't have the beautiful teeth that he has now.

In the past I saw quite a few homeopath and I was very dissapointed with their

choice of remedies (too many remedies at once, too larger doses and too many

doses plus very larger fees)so I decided to learn a bit more on my own throught

books, internet and asking others and for me this way so far has worked better.

Whenever I have used homeopathy in my family I have had very good results, so I

believe it is a matter of always trying and not being discourage by what others

say because you never know what may work for our kids and what may not.

CH and CK are equivalent to c potencies and the H means that the remedy was

prepared using the hahneman method and k the kersakovian method.

X being the roman numeral 10 is the slowest dilution rate of 1/10 and LM is the

fastest solution 1/50,000.

Some homeopath use the slowest solution (x potencies) first to see how the

person reacts, but some other homeopath use 200c and even M and LM potencies at

the start, everything depends of the practitioner and the person problem .

With my kids I normally use X and C potencies as I normally see good results

with both of them.

i will respond with a more detailed reply about the different remedies for delayed dentition - clinic is just a bit busy at the mo.

just to add to olga's explanation about potencies -

the lower potencies have an affinity with disturbances on a physical level - this are typically used as part of a clinical prescription, e.g. sometimes i will prescribe saccharum 6x daily for children who have gut issues (alongside other issues) but the saccharum 6x will be purely to heal the gut. these potencies are also suited to patients who are taking longterm medication and can be prescriped several times a day.

12c is considered to cross from physical to mental / emotional levels.

200c is a high energy potency - typically prescribed when the symptoms are intense - the trick is to match the energy of potency with the vitality of the patient and the energy of their symptoms - eg a child that has an extremely high fever (intense energy) does well on Belladonna 200c. The high energy of the fever will use up the remedy fairly quickly and the remedy can be repeated several times an hour until there is improvement.

1M, 10M, 50M etc are potencies that act on physical, mental and emotional levels. These are useful when prescribing a remedy for a patient that covers all their symptoms / traits on all levels (ie the constitutional remedy). These potencies are incredibly powerful and are documented to heal disturbances (physical, mental or emotional) that happened a long time ago - they can 'go back in time' so to speak. LM potencies are paricularly suited to those who are very ill or sensitive - these are extremely gentle potencies (higher dilutions than the previously mentioned potencies).

Sian,Thank you for your explanation.  Can potencies below 12c be taken concurrently with remedies at the 200c level?  That is, some cell salts or other remedies perscribed daily for mineralization for instance be taken with another remedy to address other issues?

yes they can - some classical homeopaths (who only prescribe one remedy at a time, ie the constitutional remedy) may not agree but in my experience, prescribe for what needs to be treated, if that requires different remedies and different potencies, then go for it!

These are usually prescribed once and then the case re-evaluated approx a month later.LM potencies are paricularly suited to those who are very ill or sensitive - these are extremely gentle potencies (higher dilutions than the previously mentioned potencies).As Olga mentioned - homeopaths have their own style and methods that work for them - but I would say as homeopathic remedies are chosen to suit the individual, choosing the potency is part of the prescription so should ultimately match the energy of a patient's vitalty. As this is a very subtle potency, it is also often prescribed daily, depending on the patient.
