Just passing this along...This class is being taught by my son's physical therapist who has been working in this Method and become a certified specialist and instructor.  It's the foundational class of the Masgutova Neurosensory Motor Reflex Integration (MNRI) program and a great beginning class for parents and professionals to start working with their children and clients.

This class has been called “The Missing Link” by many Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapists

 

 

Participants of this live MNRI® course will attend all 32 hours and satisfactorily participate in both the in-course discussion and hands-on supervised practice. In this course the participant will:

Discover how the concept of “Movement as the basis of the natural development of a person” relates to the cognitive and social/emotional development and functioning of individuals across the lifespan.

Understand and apply the Masgutova Method of Neuro-sensory-motor and Reflex Integration techniques for nineteen reflex patterns and how the Masgutova Method® is based upon both neurological science, studies of assessment and development of motor skills.

Understand and explain the reflex activity mechanism of the nervous system.

Evaluate the reflex system as the neuro-physiological basis and foundation for movement development patterns experienced over the lifespan.

Understand how distress and negative learning experiences can inhibit the integration of specified reflex patterns necessary for reading, writing, feeding, core stabilization, visual/ motor integration, speech/ language development and auditory processing.

Understand, classify and explore the body motor coordination systems, consequent brain levels and the implication on the integration of reflex patterns.

Analyze reflex integration based upon levels (i.e. reflex circuit, basic pattern, links with facilitating and opposing reflexes, transition of reflex to intentional movement, connection of reflex pattern with conscious movements and skills, correlation of reflex patterns with behavior and habits, connection of reflex patterns with emotional sphere and personality development and interrelations of reflex patterns with cognition).

Identify main parameters of a reflex pattern test and evaluate reflex pattern for integration (typical development) or dysfunction (atypical development).

Receive supervised hands-on-training to:

Conduct assessments using this MNRI® program to discover nonintegrated or immature reflex patterns.

Develop individual programs using the MNRI® program to balance, activate and integrate these reflexes

Explore the possibilities for positive changes in body structure, posture and movement development

Apply this MNRI® program to develop individual programs for people having emotional, motivational and movement challenges.

Apply and evaluate pre and post reflex assessment techniques for the nineteen infant reflexes discussed and explored in the course.
