Guest guest Posted April 25, 2001 Report Share Posted April 25, 2001 Dee and all -- I've been offline for a week and my mailbox filled up, and so maybe this was already discussed, but about the Sarafem rant, to add my two cents: the ONLY reason that drug company started marketing Sarafem is because their patent for Prozac is running out soon! In other words, Prozac will soon be available generically, and they'll lose money. So, they went back to whoever gives the patents and re-patented the same chemical for a different usage -- against this PMDD phantom that no one even knows for sure exists. Now at least they'll make lots of money off PMS for years to come... In other words, a purely financial decision. No one in this particular story is truly interested in helping women.
