Hi Everybody,

My name is Nickie and I'm in week 8. So far I've lost 8.2 lbs. My stats

are: 189.8, 181.6,131. I've been doing good, except for the last 2

weeks when I goofed a little. But that, too, shall pass. LOL I

realized that I need just a little more support throughout the week other

than my meetings.

I glanced at some earlier messages and want to give the Wendi plan a try.

It sounds good, because I have had ups and downs, where sometimes I eat

a lot and just have to be full (eat lots of volume) and on other days, I

barely make my minimum. Also, Joan's post was very inspiring (the one

about her goals and rewards). I found it so cool, that I made my own

draft during lunch today. Actually, I have thought about making a little

scrap-board of some sort and hang it on the wall where I can see it, sort

of like " My WW Journey " or something like that, including my graph, some

snap-shots, my goals, whatever else.

Okay, I better call it a night and tuck the kids into bed!

I can't wait to get to meet you guys.

See ya,

Nickie

Sharlene,

I think a lot of us here are " yo-yo " dieters. I'm 26, but have already

tried many, many different diets and exercise programs. And like most

people each and every time I lost, I gained it all back and usually more.

Last year I did Tae Cardio and loved it. Lost 30lbs. However I wasn't

making any healthy food decisions so as soon as I stopped I gained it all

back. I would like to lose about 80lbs (which would put me at the high end

of ww suggestion) but I would be happy. I've lost 16 lbs in 5 weeks.

Tomorrow is weigh day, had a stressful week, binged once on pizza, but have

kept exercising daily so I hope the scale is forgiving. Welcome to the

group!

Welcome Sharlene. We have some things in common. I also HAD 120lbs to lose but

now only have 76lbs to go. I am also 49 (soon to be the big 50) and a legal

secretary here in Connecticut. I have one son who is 32 and a 10 month old

grandson that I adore.

If you work the program it will work for you. Don't look at the BIG picture of

120lbs just work on your first 10%. Before you know it you'll be well on your

way to your goal weight. The way I see it is at 49 I'm to old to do the young

stuff and to young to be a senior so I might as well lose weight while I'm in

between ages :-). Good luck to you,

Gail

Hi Sharlene and welcome! This is a great group. I love that we don't

whine or make excuses. (Okay, sometimes we whine, but just a little and

then we work as a team to come up with solutions.)

Please hop right into the discussions!

Thank you for your welcoming words, . Congratulations on being

16 pounds lighter. That is awesome!!! I'm trying real hard. Today

will be my first " official " weigh in but according to my scale, I've

lost 2 pounds so far this week. I'll take that.

Thanks for you words of support, Gail. They are so badly needed. It's

not as easy to lose weight as it once was. My thought is f it's this

slow now then it's not going to get any easier as I get older so I may

as well do it now.

How wonderful that you have lost 40+ pounds. What a terrific

accomplishment! May I ask how long it took?

How's the legal biz in Connecticut? Things are tough in Boston. One

firm is shutting down and others have experienced severe layoffs. Rumor

has it layoffs are on the horizon where I work. Makes it harder to

focus on weight loss. <sigh>

Thanks, Tory. I'll try to keep my whining to a bare minimum. I've been

getting the sense that this is a great group. It made is it so much

easier to come out of lurkdom.
