Guest guest
I have the same thing - it fluctuates and is not as bad now as it was, but it is a " deep " feeling of clitoral pain, combined with clitoral engorgement. I think the engorgement is what makes me sensitive to wearing underwear - bits stick out where they're not supposed to and rub (please don't make any jokes about this - it's pretty distressing for me). It is sometimes helped temporarily by an orgasm. Gordon thought it resulted from my vestibulitis - said something I didn't quite understand about inflammation and blood-flow. So, my questions for Tom are: (1) chicken and egg: Can vestibulitis cause compression of the pudendal nerve, causing the clitoral problems? Or can pudendal nerve problems cause vestibulitis? Or is the whole thing a vicious cycle both probs feeding off each other? (2) How would you treat this? (3) Do you know of any good physical therapists in New Zealand or can you tell me how I would track one down? Thanks, andrea
Guest guest
Hi Tim, thanks for your reply - it kind of makes sense now. Similar to what someone else mentioned, I didn't develop the clitoral problems until well after I had developed vestibulitis (and some other symptoms), and it coincided with me starting to get really worried about my condition. Before now I have put this down to coincidence, but now I wonder if I developed muscle tension problems as a result of the stress, leading to pudendal nerve compression and my clitoral problems. It has got a bit better over recent months - which might be correlating with being less worried. But I guess this means I should look into physical therapy as well as tackling the vestibulitis which is caused by I-don't-know-what. Goddammit - how many problems can one person have!!!??? Interestingly - I used to go mountain biking a lot with a bunch of men .... if i am ever up to it again, I will look more closely when they get off their bikes! Actually - there are much better cycling saddles around these days - see http://www.terrybicycles.com - and specialized and serfas do some good ones too! thanks again, andrea
Guest guest
Thanks Tum, but can you tell me what a " plevic floor " is? It sounds like an interesting new concept in interior decor ... .... " Tim " was a misprint (doh!). andrea > HI again Amber, > Make sure that when you are looking for a PT you ask if they have anyone on staff who is expert in Muscle Energy technique and Counterstrain. And if they are also expert in Plevic Floor dysfunction. > THanks for the tip about bike seats but I gave it up..too much tension on my neck.. so Im back to running and swimming laps... > TKOPT
Guest guest
One of the great things about computers is that they have a " delete " key and if anyone does not want to read a message they need only hit that key and the message is gone. I for one was favorably impressed with the way Tom expressed himself in the post regarding his bicycle problem. Guest guest
To put in my 2 cents... I think it's great to not only have an understanding male perspective, but to also to have Tom, who has provided us with more information than we already had. I'm not talking about his " biker " post, which I happen to find humorous but maybe that's just my liberal perspective, I'm talking about the physical therapy information, etc. Judy, how long have you been a member of this group? Have you found other things that he's said helpful and not offensive? Have you ever found anything else offensive? It was a pretty harsh post. -- --- taurusrc@... wrote: > One of the great things about computers is that they > have a " delete " key and if > anyone does not want to read a message they need > only hit that key and the > message is gone. > > I for one was favorably impressed with the way Tom > expressed himself in the post > regarding his bicycle problem. > > Ora > > On Sun, 15 Apr 2001 13:03:58 +0200, judy rubin > wrote: > > >Dear All, > > > >One thing I have always been proud of (with rare > exception) is the sensitive > >tone of our messages and this Tom really is vulgar > and who cares about his > >bike riding? Guest guest
Judy, I must have missed something because I feel that Tom has been very helpful and informative and has done it with a great sense of humor. Donna
Guest guest
I am sure that this thread is becoming rather embarrassing to Tom and shall appreciate it if everyone will take their comments to private email to those involved. Guest guest
Everyone seems pretty unhappy about this. I'd hate to see either Tom, or Judy feel alienated over this. Judy, Have you tryed talking to Tom privatly about what offended you, maby that would help. This can be a pretty sensitive topic and things can easly be taken the wrong way. I also know how easy it is to try and be light hearted about a serious topic and come across inapropriatly. ----Original Message Follows---- From: White4Art@...
