Guest guest
Hey there... The military - every year - has their " 100 critical days of summer " . It's essentially a saftey awareness program that lasts from Memorial Day to Labor Day. In their case, it mostly stresses sun saftey, driving safety, and kids-out-of-school saftey. Apparently, there are more accidents in those 100 days - and deaths - than any other time. What does this have to do with me? I'm offering a challenge. I know many of you are as competative as I am <g>, so why not have a good outcome from a negative trait. Beginning Memorial Day, STAY ON PROGRAM - not forever, but for 100 days. That's 100 days of journaling, 100 days of drinking water, and 100 days of counting points (even if you go over) - for me, it's also 100 days of exercise! What's the point? After all, WW is forever, not for 3 months. Here it is: it takes 3 weeks for something to become a part of your lifestyle, and 3 times that for it to become unthinking habit. By the end of the 100 days, WW will be a part of you, and aside from the weight loss (which is cool, because you have a starting date and an ending one for the " challenge " - some of us have been on program so long we don't know when we did what), it will also be an exercise in building a lifestyle. So, who's for it? The process would be easy: weigh yourself on Memorial Day, and then start program with COMMITTMENT. After all, ANYONE can do something for a limited time, and forever is so darn abstract. Post your weight once a week (and if you're also on Journals, post to that group DAILY), and watch the results. Because it's a finite period of time, I think it'll be easier than the " forever " we live with. Because we have a starting and an ending point, I think for some of us it will be more concrete and less overwhelming. Just my thoughts... so who's in? -Crys-
