Guest guest
You're on 90 mgs Armour a day?? You are on way too low a dose. Normal dose is between 3-5 grains. .........Meleese in Oz xxx -------Original Message------- From: I had blood tests several months ago that showed hypothyroidism with a TSH level of 5.25. I'm 38 and have all of the classic symptoms except for isomnia - I have no trouble sleeping. In fact, I don't even wake up refreshed after 9-10 hours of sleep. Three months ago, I was prescribed Armour at an initial dose of 30mg/day. From day one, it has made me feel more fatigued and weaker; I've also developed headache-like pressure in the head and back of neck. Within those three months, I have gained six pounds without changing my eating/exercising patterns. Today, I still feel worse with an increased dosage of 30 mg upon awakening at 7am and 30mg at 12noon, which isn't that much. I have a normal basal temperature and my daily average temperatures are between 98.6 to 99.3 and I have had no hyper-like symptoms. I thought maybe my adrenals are weak so three weeks ago I began to suppliment with licorice and adrenal grandulars, but still haven't noticed a change in the way I feel. Perhaps, I need to try something stronger? Last week I had blood levels checked and now my TSH levels are 2.1 and t3/t4 are where they should be, but why do I feel worse on this medication? It doesn't make any sense and I don't know what to do it this point. Do you have any suggestions? , Fla. ---------------------------------
Guest guest
>>my TSH levels are 2.1 and t3/t4 are where they should be<< What are the NUMBERS ans lab ranges for the Free T3 and Free T4? It sounds to me like you are still not on enough Armour. A TSH of 2.1 while on meds is way too high. Most of us do not feel well till it is suppressed to about.01. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
I know, but if I increase, I'll probably feel worse. This dose has actually reduce my TSH values in half. --- Meleese wrote: > You're on 90 mgs Armour a day?? You are on way too > low a dose. Guest guest
You want your TSH to be lower than what it is now. I would be so HypoT out with it that high. When you increase, how much do you increase with? SAMMIE wrote: I know, but if I increase, I'll probably feel worse. Guest guest
Hi there I can understand why your Doc is taking it slowly beleive me if you jump too fast you will be worse off. Have you had ferritin tested as low iron will make you very tired. At the start when I started armour on 30mg I was extremely tired continued to up the dose and it got worse and worse - now I am back to 30mg daily again, supplementing with pred 2.5mg daily have my ferritin in range and slowly the pieces are falling into place. Don't take it up to fast and do watch the licorice some say it is good for adrenals and if you have hashi's it will make it worse chris > > You're on 90 mgs Armour a day??
