Do you currently have problems sleeping at night? I am not a fan of cinnamon but if it helps (which I don't know yet) control the blood sugar I can become a fan. Guest guest
How many people here have been eating the cinnamon? How long? And has it seemed to have helped? <I've also been filling 00 gelatin capsules with cinnamon and taking them three times a day.> Blain, what a great idea. Where do you get the capsules? And, when you are doing good eating wise, does the cinnamon seem to be helping? How long have you been doing this? Betty

I've been having bran cereal for breakfast and putting a teaspoon of cinnamon on it (works good with raisin bran also), and that takes a package of splenda (or two depending on my serving size) and some soymilk (don't do moo-milk) and that's fine. I've also been filling 00 gelatin capsules with cinnamon and taking them three times a day. Lately I've been running a little high, but I've been irregular in taking my herb things and not terribly good with either diet or exercise, so it's not really a shock (morning bgs of 127-163). Looks like it's time to repent and sin no more. > Ann Take care, Blain

If it came in a pill form I would buy it! You can buy empty gelatin capsules online -- there's a guy who has a little device for filling them that looks pretty good, and the capsule prices are pretty good also. (Jeanne Saunders...Florida) I take cinnamon with a " cereal " I mix up from ground flax seeds, nuts, raisins and fake sugar. I eat it in the morning to get enough carbohydrates to jump-start my brain (about 25 grams of carbs). I find that -- for me, and possibly not anyone else -- it tends to stabilize my blood sugars -- that is, they got less high and less low than they would otherwise. I tend to get lows even without taking diabetes meds. Patty

This is the 2nd clinical trial I have done - the 1st one in the Spring was with an herbal based drug - like valerian root. This one is chemical based and is sort of like Ambian. They pay well so it's worth my while. Tried to sign up for a Diabetic one but you have to be obese and I did not qualify. (Yeah I think Ann > Ann, how interesting you doing a sleep study. I eat anywhere from 1/4 to 1/3 cup (sometimes more) almost every morning. I add extra water, Splenda and Cinnamon. I usually have blueberries or an apple with the oatmeal and several cups of coffee with Fat free milk (before and with breakfast) and my readings are always normal. Guest guest
I too would like to use the cinnamon but have a question about the oatmeal. I just checked my oatmeal box and it say there are 27 carbs in 1/2 cup. That seems a lot to me. I know, for me, that would spike me way over 200. How does it affect some of you????? I would LOVE to be able to eat oatmeal with cinnamon. Guest guest
My doctor recommended that I eat oatmeal (not the instant kind). I do 5 to 6 days a week.
