I have had a hell of a week....Dad is still in the hospital while we tangle with

the discharge planner on where to place him... After only a few days in the

hospital felt he should come home or be placed.. I told the DP that he has been

violent with me and cannot come home...

she then said .. well the doc said he is stable so you can appeal to medicare

..... I did and they agreed with me and gave me a reprieve.... after which the

hospital once again said they would discharge him... sigh.... In the meantime I

have been on the phone with NH staffers and SW's and hearing different

requirements to the point that i am frustrated.

even the mediCal applications are tricky.. one false move and they can take

everything..two of the NH I looked at wont take him if he needs to be restrained

or on insulin... a fact that wasnt disclosed to me til recently

He clearly has been doped up... the amount of Thorazine he was on was doubled..

and they put him on Cogentin.. when clearly he had issues with that drug...He

isnt even speaking English.. just his native language

I have been documenting everything.. even taking pictures... and bugging the

RN's....I just dont know how these folk think we have 4-6K laying around to put

him in a home..even if he came home.. he would need 24/hour care and that would

be expensive..I dont have enough family members to help, so I'm all my parents

have..My brain cells are fried..

just hope something comes through for me..
