hmmm...

I'd normally say heck yeah, I'll go for this. But since I still don't have my

program materials from ww yet, and am still trying to figure out points for a

lot of the foods we eat frequently, I may not be ready in time to start on

Mon. <g> As soon as I have had a chance to receive my stuff from ww and read

it, etc., I'll dive right in. Til then, I'm more or less just feeling my way

along, trying to do this on my own, and I'm actually seeing a little weight

come off this way, but look forward to being on the full program.

I'll be rooting for all of ya, though! Let us know how the challenge is going.

I'm in. It's also a lot easier to eat " light " in the summer, easier to get

exercise, easier to eat those cool fresh salads, and putting on a bathing

suit is terrific motivation. I am SOO in.

Crys-

Ok after todays WI and gaining a much deserved .8, I am definitely in and

starting this today. I am not able to WI on Monday, but I will start with

todays weight and post it on the database. This should kick us in the butt.

Good luck ladies!

OK ... today is the first of our 100 day challenge! In 21 days we will have

formed good habits, after 100 it will be an automatic way of life ... so

they say!

So what is our game plan? I know I stay with things longer when I know

others are " with me " . It sounds like several are planning on taking the

challenge!

I for one have to start walking the talk! I talk of losing weight .... but

it just never happens. I know my friends are sick of hearing me talk of

intent. I try for a while and then tend to get discouraged that I'm not

losing. Exercise is lacking in my life ... so during this 100 days I want

to do better at that. I also need to drink more water. Of course eating

better heads up the list. Summer should be a little easier for me - as I

won't be working. There is always food around in my office that temps me

(and gets the best of me) and I travel quite a bit for my job, so I tend to

snack while driving and eat out often.

My stats: I'm 5'7 " and currently weight 184 lbs. When I was 160, I wanted

to lose weight ... then at 170, I wanted to lose weight. I'm going in the

WRONG direction!!!!!!! None of my summer clothes fit - except a few pair of

black capri pants. I wanted to be able to fit into some of my shorts this

summer - but I won't be able to right now! That bums me out. (Especially

since I'll be going to a birthday party for my sister and her husband next

week. We are going to a baseball game. I so wanted to look better .... but

here I sit at my all time high! I have no idea what I'm going to wear. It

doesn't help that my sister always looks great - at a size 10 or less!)

Let's keep in contact often ....

So far, I just managed to not gain any weight in the

last two weeks. Here are my stats. I am 5/5 and i

weigh 302. I am pregnant, but my nurse/nutritionist

said that at my points level I would be getting enough

calories for the baby and me and still losing weight.

(I am allowed 29-34) She said she thought it was 2000

calories. I would liek to lose 30 lbs by the time i

have the baby in early november so that by the time he

is here, that would be 60 lbs, as a baby usually is

30-35 lbs of fluids, placenta, baby, etc.) I also was

told my last baby had a huge placenta.. so if that is

another 5 lbs, im not going to fuss about it.. :P

Okay, my game plan--

I am going to keep track of my points and my water

intake every day along with keeping track of my carbs

and blood sugars in my journal. I am going to drink

more water, actually drink all my water. I have found

this hard to do lately. This means 100 oz as opposed

to 50. I am going to walk four times a week as opposed

to two or three, whether i have a reason to or not. I

am going to try some new lower fat dishes as opposed

to higher fat ones. My big problem is I need a

" walking buddy " ... I would be so much more disposed to

walk if i had somebody to come over and " kick my

butt " and get me moving cause she counts on me and

vice versa. (Right now i walk to the store to get milk

and small things with a cart) Ideally my walking buddy

would want to " push the envelope " and go a little

further every week so as to be able to do a mile in

less time. This is going to be harder the more further

along in the pregnancy i am, though.

I did a lower fat version of chili last night. I dont

know how many points, but it was a start. I used to

use about two lbs of ground beef and a lb of pinto

beans. I now use about one lb of meat and i cook and

then rinse it well, then put it back into the pan with

garlic and some pureed onion(puree it cause hubby

hates the texture) and then I put in a can of chopped

tomatoes and some tomato paste and black beans (better

for diabetics; some people say it affects their sugars

less) and i made sure there was more juice than usual

so that it was more filling. Hubby really liked it.

Tonight we are going to have salad for dinner, either

a taco salad or a salad with the leftover chili. I

have also decided to go buy chicken breast and cut the

meat off the bone to stir fry to go in salad, or do

the same with turkey breast so we have a couple of

lower fat alternatives. (I would buy the boneless

skinless chicken breast, but 2.99 or more a lb is way

too much money for the budget) we already like to take

turkey breast and cut it into bite size pieces and

stir fry it with some cajun spices and minced garlic

and put it with salad fixings. I also did a great

salad with chicken cooked with salsa and black beans

that he liked too, i had had a salad at a fancy

restaurant that was chicken and drained black beans

and onion and tomatoes with pasta that had a sweet

sauce to it, it was say sun dried tomato vinaigrette.

it was very good, but i do not react well to pasta so

i did the same with salad greens. I have been trying

to come up with salads that my husband will eat, but

he doesnt like cold pasta or potato salad, and he is

not crazy about coleslaw so these are ones that he can

live with..so far. If anybody else has a particularly

good salad recipe, feel free to post.
