6. Over a year ago her counselor discussed this with her as the root

of her problems but she has not dealt with it in any way. She

actually refuses to even discuss it. In the last few months things

have gotten progressively worse (AGAIN) and I have really researched

BPD and am trying to use that to help me cope.

Don't Leave Me were my intro. Reading these books and Understanding

the Borderline Mother, I felt someone had peeked into my past and

provided an explanation. Everything else I read about (bipolar, manic,

hystrionic, schizophrenic) didn't quite fit. Nada also has definite

narcissistic tendencies but when it comes to what's closest, she's a

Borderline Queen/Witch.

Thanks for asking.

Kindest regards,

1. My sex: Female

2. My age: 40

3. BP mother

4. Her age: 59

5. Alive and unwell (not to mention snarling & whining)

6. Heard about BPD a verrrry long time ago, in my teens, looking thru

a DSM-III Casebook. The stories in the Casebook didn't seem to

describe mom. (I think they were LF.) (Learned a lot reading the

Casebook, it's a good read, if you're into that)

Didn't apply BPD to mom til approximately 6-7 years ago, during a

therapy session where I was expressing extreme frustration about my

crazy mom for the umpteenth time. Therapist suggested mom could have

BPD. Couldn't say for sure, mom wasn't her patient, but that's what

it sounded like.

So this time I looked up BPD in the actual DSM (IV) and the light bulb

started to glow faintly. Did more research online, found Randi

Kreger's book, " Stop Walking on Eggshells " , read it, and it all

clicked into place.
