hi everyone!its so nice to see i am not the only one who benifits from things like massage and going to the chriropractor (sp?)i posted a long time ago when i first started in here....and kinda got jumped becouse i posted a message about taking methadone for paina nd what a bad reaction i had to it....anyway...i was on all kinds of meds, including neurontin and methadone.....just to name a few.....and i was told i had to get off the meds or i would have to resign my job....but as of 31DEC03 i was fired from my job and went to the dr. the same day and was told i was so bad i should "go home, go on disability and you will be lucky if you live to be 40"so in tears, my friend dragged me to her dr. who specializes in alt. medicine, and i looked him square in his face and told him "there is nothing that you can tell me that is

any worse then i have already heard today...so YOU tell ME, what can YOU do for ME??"he told me the defination for insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result each time....i have been on anti-depressant since i was 6 yr's old, and on pain meds since i had my son in may of 00, and "isn't it time you change something and see if it works?"so, i gave him 100% trust, and at home, detoxed off my meds cold turkey....which i can honestly tell you, sucked! majorly! took me 3 months to no longer test positive on a drug screen....well anyway, sorry to ramble on, my point is that i totally controll my fms, and the other not-so pleasant parts of it (ibs, migraines ect.) with accupunture, chriropratic work, changing my dieit (granted i am not great at that, lol) and getting good sleep.its funny, none of my "medical" dr's really belived in fms, but this guy not only believes in it, but he has told me most of

his patients come to him when they have no other option or are out of the list of meds to try.....anyway, the books firbomyalgia for dummies, females w/ fms (a great book on the reproductive and sexual problems women with fms can have) are the 2 books i would HIGHLY recommend to everyone!even as a nurse, i didn't understand FMS, and i have found that there is also a special online class i can take and get a special certification to treat FMS patients, which my work paid for and i now am the only one of the staff who has this certificate....anyway, i do still have flare days, weather changes bother me, and when i can't sleep, i have more problems....but i am rambling on to tell everyone that there is hope....i doon't know how long this will last, if i will not be able to work after a certain age or anything but as much as it sucks, i am thankful that i am still alive and that i can work, take care of kids, and be

somewhat pain free.....i don't know if this helped anyone or not, but i hope maybe it did...my dr's web page is www.rosellegroup.com and my dr. is dr sushil sims. and my email is luvablekarinva@... if anyone wants to email me privately.....hope this may have helped, or maybe put you to sleep....take care and stay safe everyone!!!gentle hugs, karintrue tears do fall from your eyes and cover your face, true tears fall from your heart and cover your soul.1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general.2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that

situation better.Have a nice day everyone.
