Guest guest
hi Cris, chipping in your questions to Suzanne - yes, any physio you do is good even if only mild bronch. NOT doing anything only speeds up the deterioration. re nebs - I also found that 0.9% didn't do anything (is same level as our own body). I now do 6%, which some people can't tolerate, but works great for me, 5 mls once daily. If it makes you gag, cough etc when you 1st start make sure you have a glass of water, or build up to it, starting at 3%. If you're coughing up 'bits' all day then you're not actually clearing your lungs well enough to give you a break, I think it's normal to swallow, but if have lots, I try not to... Now with doing nebs and 'vest' I don't have to constantly carry heaps of tissues (to cough into) and plastic bag (to put tissue in) all the time, and always trying to find somewhere discreet to to cough up! Does the percussion help you get up a good amount, enough to give you a break. Do you do nebs first? It helps loosen the mucous. Tai Chi is also good for bronch, give muscle exercise along with breathing, if it's to your taste - it's helped keep me going.. cheers, Joy H
