Occasionally it is with a little blood............ For the first time since I was diagnosed with bronch (2005) I have the same color sputum which now it is laced with small amounts of blood. The doctors said not to worry as it is common with this disease. I exercise regularly. However if I walk too briskly my chest feels heavy. That happens to me also and especially when I climb the stairs. Please note that I have an active infection presently and I'm on my 4Th antibiotic. I experience general fatigue and do not put on weight............... I tire more easily, especially when I have infections. Sometimes I lose a little weight but only when I have an active infection. Could anyone tell me if these are the general signs of Bronchoectasis and is blood with sputum normal? .................................................. Yes to all. For bronch nebs are generally used to thin secretions so don't have cough so hard to remove them. One form is saline - 3 - 6% solution, prescribed (don't mix from table salt!!!) or Mucomyst or whatever USA has available for you.
