Yes ,this looks like it's the same.I am still having a hard time

understanding it.( I found it online). Do many people use this? And

does it seem to be very helpful. Thanks,Tammy F.

Does anyone know if this is the same as ( maybe the

same lab?), or this is similar to, the Dr.  Amy Yaskow

nutrigenomic methylation DNA test?  Thank you.

How to read a

DetoxGenomic Profile test??

Does anyone know how to read the results of the

Genova Diagnostics test called DetoxiGenomic

Profile? I only have the physicians copy.My

physician seems bewildered with it also. I thing

my son has huuuuuge detox problems(Ithink!) At

this point I don't think he can ever detox the

many treatments that he needs. Does any one have a

child that does not detox at all? Thanks for any

input that you've got.Tammy F.

I have heard that MP/Zyto has info on this in his assessment protocol if one asks for it first when scheduling the appt. LIA Foundation may do the same and certainly deserve all our support. Amy Yaskow has an entire website somewhat like this one in which courageous mothers and parents discuss the specific SNPs and their appropriate nutritional bypasses. I know of no other easily accessible, fair, affordable and compassionate practitioners who have a handle on this, and this is after years of looking. No one has time to guess, so networking with LIA, MP or Yasko's mothers' group could be useful. Other practitioners are catching on, but the ones who have been at it the longest have the best chance of understanding complex cases (aadults and children

both). To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Sent: Tue, September 14, 2010 11:33:08 PMSubject: Re: How to read a DetoxGenomic Profile test??

It seems that these are very important tests to do,especially when

just starting with treatments. I wish I would have gotten it at the

beginning. My son has been very ill for 2 years of treatment .It

looks like many of the items he has been on are on this list.

Thanks,Tammy F.

Two of my boys did this test. They both have a polymorphism affecting

methylation/folic acid metabolism, so we use 5-MTHF (active folate). They

benefit from mito supplements like carnitine and CoQ10. One is " absent " the

glutathione gene (but 40% of the population is, apparently) so benefits from

more antioxidants, gluthatione recyclers (vit C, milk thistle) and glutathione

precursors like glycine and glutamine. But he has phenol issues (that isn't

shown on this test) so doesn't tolerate certain herb antioxidants like acai

without some No-Fenol enzyme. The also both have issues with SOD (superoxide

dismutase), so need a bit more manganese and they should definitely not smoke!

I didn't bother to do the test for my third son, and just follow the same

precautions. I believe there is a sample report on the Genova website; it gives

you an idea of what the recommendations would be.
