Guest guest
Dear Barb. Thanks for your message! I am sorry that you are struggling with both a very low energy level, and depression. I sure know what that is like!! My mood has really turned around!! I finally agreed to go out yesterday, with a friend, for breakfast and then bridge at the local Widowed Persons assoc. What a difference that made! It is the first time I have been with other people, laughing and having fun, since before last Christmas!! It gives me hope! It must be difficult for you to have to depend upon someone else's preparing food for you. One idea I have is to make a green, & fresh veggie salad, and store in a large Rubbermaid/Tupperware type bowl. I do that once a week. It does keep well. I find that I am very satisfied with a salad for lunch and some type of deli lunch meat, or shrimp, or water packed, canned white chicken meat, or boiled eggs. I found some low carb crackers I like, that only have a few grams of carbs, per nine crackers. Since I wrote asking for meal ideas, I have also bought some frozen brussel sprouts, and some squash. I just love the brand " Laughing Cow " cheese, and it is spreadable on low carb tortillas, and in celery. I am so grateful that I enjoy veggies, so much! With such low bg it is no wonder that you feel weak and shaky! Have you tried a piece of high fiber bread with a spread of peanut butter? I hope I am not out of line suggesting that here! I slept for 14 hours and when I got up today, I felt very hypo. Tested at 87, but decided to eat a slice of low carb bread with a spread of peanut butter, and a glass of 1% milk. It sure took away my shakes! Hang in there, with us. You and I will learn how to manage our disease, Barb. Hugs, Sheila __________________________________________________
