Guest guest
Hi all, Limin and Isa, here, who doesn't post much, but reads often. One of my children, also, is a bed wetter. All of the enuresis clinics say it is from an improper sleep wave function. Basically, that our bodies are constantly going from stage 2-4 sleep during the night and that these kids are stuck at 4 and can't wake up when their bladder is full. They also say that these kids grow up to be the adults with sleep issues such as sleep apnea. Bed wetting is almost always hereditary. Some of this makes sense to me, but our bodies are naturally supposed to produce less urine at night - so I am wondering why such volume? Also, our son was wetting every single night since birth. At 11 years old, we through away yet another mattress and just got an air mattress that could be wiped down. Our son wasn't very good at keeping it blown up and would often sleep on a very soft mattress. During this time we were doing the 'alarm system'. That got old real fast (especially since I couldn't get back to sleep). Then we purchased him a nice new mattress with super duper water protection. An instantly, his bed wetting stopped. And I thought, " back issues " . But, that could be because he had always had good mattresses before (the air mattress). And it sadly didn't stop permanently. He is still wetting a few times a month. At his age this is devastating as he wants to go on sleep overs.Isa, if you are in WA, I'd love to know the name of your doc. I suppose since he is mainstream it would be ok to post. Was it your doc who insisted on all the labs or you? Can you find these levels by just checking urine? Just wondering because my son is soooo needle phobic. Limin can you tell me what you used for: " In our case, supporting kidneys with herbs, replenishing minerals, reducing inflammation in hypothalamus and pituitary, and detoxifying him over time all have helped greatly. His levels of ADH (antidiuretic hormone or Vasopressin) have been normalized. " What herbs, minerals? How did you reduce hypoth and pit. inflammation. I'm wondering if a pituitary glandular would help?Thank you all. Sorry for the long post, Isa, Would you allow me to post your below message to a friend on another forum? And if so would you pefer I left your name on or off your message? I found the information very helpful. Thanks! Thane > > Hello Karin, > I have the exactly same problem w my boy. I am in the process of getting my final appntmnt to see if we are really going to do this with my kiddo, u know how very reticent we asd moms are about using drugs, but if everything else has failed and the condition is only getting worse, there are not so many choices left. Guest guest
,You can ask your child's pediatrician to order Antidiuretic Hormone (ADH) Profile test with LabCorp. Your insurance, if you have one, will cover the cost. LabCorp test number is 046557. The test includes ADH and osmolality. It might be useful to test urea levels in urine. When the children are at an active detox phase, they also tend to wet the bed, as the bodies are dumping toxic acids or urea. The kidneys naturally do not want to hold on toxins, so they dump regardless day or night. If the results are within the reference range, these tests help to rule out abnormal ADH. If not, then you can seek a specialist accordingly. However, the ADH Profile is for testing serum and plasma, so it requires blood draw.In our case, we use phosphorus, potassium (from coconut water), and Horsetail (rich in silica) to protect kidneys, Young Living Sacred incense oil on spinal cord, the back of neck and behind the ears to reduce brain inflammation, and NutraMedix Babuna to help with quality sleep. To help pineal and pituitary glands, and hypothalamus to function better, be sure to sleep in less EMR/EMF polluted environment (if not possible to be free of EMR/EMF) and complete darkness (avoiding night light, street light, moonlight, etc.) Sleep is an important anti-inflammation process for the body. Melatonin is secreted by the brain in response to complete darkness. We no longer actively chelate metal toxins and mainly support mitochondria to let the cells to their detox job. For mito/detox support, I put drops of DHLA NanoPlex and CoQ-Quinol (both made by Premier Research Labs) in my son's drinking water to let him sip through the day. If you prefer using nutrients from foods, diets to support mitochondrial function, this might be a great cookbook to get:"Minding My Mitochondria" written by Terry L. Wahls, MDhttp://www.amazon.com/Minding-Mitochondria-2nd-progressive-wheelchair/dp/0982175086/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8 & s=books & qid=1284232636 & sr=8-1Limin--http://www.healthbylimin.com/Young Living Distributor # 1111136"Follow those who seek the truth, but flee from those who have found it."-- Unknown originHi all, Limin and Isa, here, who doesn't post much, but reads often. Guest guest
I don't know if I'd say my son has adrenal fatigue because he has never had a dry night. Not since he was a new born. But not enough sodium is interesting. Have you checked for adrenal fatigue? Parsley tea helps with that. Oftentimes there is a sodium-potassium imbalance that can cause the body to let go of the water. I think its potassium excess and not enough sodium. Here is a link, is there any fatigue? http://www.ei-resource.org/articles/chronic-fatigue-syndrome-articles/nutritional-considerations-in-chronic-fatigue-syndrome/ Gayatri > > > > > > > > > > > My son has had excessive night urination for a couple of months now. Guest guest
My son has autism, my daughter does not, but my daughter had always worn diaper at night up until last year. I thought it was just a part of growing up for her and would eventually outgrow it. about 2 months after turning 11 she had a playground incident. Nothing came of it, no harm done, but I took her to the emergency room anyway. Just for additional info they checked her blood sugar and she was then diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Not long after starting treatment she didn't need the nightime diaper anymore. I guess it can be a symptom of untreated diabetes. I wouldn't wish Type 1 diabetes on anyone!, but ...Just thought I'd share. My autistic son always wakes up wet and he is almost 14, but he isn't diabetic (I check his blood sugar often just in case.) again, just thought I'd share. I don't think kids ever get their blood sugar checked in regular doctor checkups. They should do that at least at certain ages. Like every few years. But , that's just me....To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Sent: Mon, September 13, 2010 3:13:08 PMSubject: Re: What can cause excessive night urination? , l am sorry, l live in mexico city, but this MD sees people from around the globe, children in particular, but he has also helped adults. he said primary enuresis can go on for life when not treated, he said he had a patient who recently divorced because he never said to her wife to be that he suffered it, even though he improved under his care, by then the wife had lost trust in him.... cause he was never able to tell her before getting married that he suffered that problem. freaking, uh? l hope you get help from a local md, otherwise consider this: if you have an international insurance policy, exams, tests, physicians fees, are much LESS expensive here than in the USA. l insisted on the tests and he supported me. one of the first questions he made when writing the kid`s clinical history was: does youor kid snores ???? ( oh yes sir, he snored big time before we removed his adenoids....) but he said snoring and enuresis are very closely related.... and that the dream stages in a person who has enuresis, are indeed wider and deeper than those who don`t. i have so much more to write about this topic but l have to run now.... blessings lsa > > > > > > Hello Karin, > > > I have the exactly same problem w my boy. Guest guest
That would be an easy, cheap fix. Think I'll try that one first. :-) Hi Caryn, cranberry pills helped alleviate my son's frequent urination problem. We used Natures Herbs cranberry pills. Guest guest
When my son was touching his penis, he had high oxalic acid showing in his organic acid test. I haven't tested him again since but it seemed to have stop since we started vit. k2. and vit. D.Val Caryn, We had the same issues, excess urniation in night time, couple of months ago. On top if bet wetting, he was also grabbing his penus all the time, it was so obvious, it was bothering him. But urine work did not show anything. We were on antibacterial and antifungal rotation. I stopped both of them for 2 weeks and the situation got better. He is not wetting the bed anymore. As yo have said, I had to wash his bedding every day, it was that bad. After 2 weeks break, we have already started antibacterial, so far no issues. Shanthi > > I haven't used my dandelion root in a while, but I will break it out again tomorrow. Guest guest
Sherry, For the hives, have you checked their thyroid? Given your history mentioned below, your children might have the possibility of an autoimmunity that causes thyroid gland inflammation. Potassium iodide is said to be thyroid-protective. Essential fatty acids especially omega-3s improve the efficiency of the thyroid hormones on the receptor sites. But truly I have not really looked into this. Misty, if you are reading this, could you share your experience and knowledge on this subject (thyroid)? Limin > Ok Limin, > I hear you about kidney detox and chronic inflammation. My daughter is nearly 10 and my son 8. Both wear pull-ups. I tried the desmopressin with my daughter for a month (reluctantly) and it did nothing. I never bothered to try it with my son. I'm pretty clueless where to start with kidney detox. I know inflammation is a problem though, especially for my son. The official label the research immunologist gave us was ideopathic urticaria. (Hives of unknown origin) It's like duh, I could have told you it was hives and we don't know what's causing it. How can that be an official Dx. He gets it all over his body nearly once a day and it is gone within 30 minutes. I have Hashimoto's and did while I was pregnant, I'm sure, but it was undiagnosed and untreated so them having inflammatory issues is no shock. > > We have been on the SCD diet with almost nothing artificial & no MSG. Been doing Kefir and homemade yogurt. Before that we were GF/CF with no artificials for 2 1/2 years. Just trying to clean up our internal environments. We are now supplementing with Iodine since we are all so deficient for some reason. (Under dr. supervision).
