I also take Glucophage. I've taken it for over a month now and haven't

noticed any side effects yet. Everyone is different though.........

I've heard of it giving people diarrhea, but if I look for anything that's

different since I've been taking it, it would be constipation, but that could

be from the change in diet.

Phil, I have heard many people on this list complain of the same symptoms

with Glucophage. I am on Glucophage XR and it hasn't bothered me, but I am

thinking I am the exception to the rule on this. It does give most people

diarrhea.

Hi Phil

Yes, I've experienced the same with glucophage. The first four weeks

I was on it, I had severe diarhea and nausea... to the point that I

couldn't eat dinner at all (I took it with lunch). It did go away,

once my body adjusted. Now, I'm taking Glucophage XR before bedtime

and I don't have any problems.

Odd that your doctor thinks it is something else... this is a known

side effect of glucophage. It should go away.

Phil, I don't take Glucophage, but I do take Glucovance, which is an

offshoot of it. At first I did start having problems with stomach pains,

not like cramps, but more like an unexplained pain. What side initial

side effects I had did not last too long though, thank goodness :-)

Hi Sus

I take Glucophage and also read that it helps you to lose weight. Well, I

have lost weight, but I think it's because I've been on a very strict diet.

I've been eating better than I used to, so I'm not as hungry. Good

Well, it hasn't with me, lol but not sure about others. Nothing seems to

be making me lose weight.
