We FINALLY got my wife's Igenix results. According to their criteria, she's got borrelia, just like our lyme-induced ASD son. He had originally tested + for lyme/babs/bart. Her babs and bart were negative, so I don't know what her future LLMD will do regarding the coinfections. The results were:IGM 31 +++ 34 IND 39 IND 41 + 58 ++ 83-93 INDIGG 31 +++34 +39 IND41 ++58 +She's not CDC positive because those nitwits don't count the

31 band. Anyway, it's a sad day for us, but at least we have answers now. :-(

Now it is time to get yourself tested. My husband is positive too on the same

bands as my son and I. Our former LLMD said this was often the case.

Thanks for your concern, Caryn. Yes, I will eventually be tested, but I am not too worried for myself now. I need to concentrate my efforts on my wife and my child's health, not mine. To be frank, we did not consummate our marriage until almost the 7th year. Apparently, lyme contributed to her other condition - vaginismus. We only had sexual intercourse for a two week period in 2002, when our son was conceived and we stopped. After his birth, her vaginismus returned until this day. I guess I should be "thankful." lol...I suppose that it is possible that I was infected during that 2 week period, but I have not exhibited any of the symptoms. Someday, I will test, but we certainly can't afford ANOTHER $1,000+ Igenix test at this time!Regarding the bands, it's strange because

their bands don't all coincide. He doesn't show for 31 and 34 and she doesn't show for 45.To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Sent: Thu, August 12, 2010 9:15:46 PMSubject: Re: Congentital Lyme pretty much confirmed

On the bright side, hopefully your wife will get MUCH better and that her other

health issues will resolve. :o)

Hi ,

My family is in a similar situation (both of our boys - 3 and 5 yrs) are ASD and

have borrelia and ehrlichia, and so do I). My husband tested negative on the

Igenex DNA test, BUT he's had severe ulcerative colitis for several years and is

on an IV biologic drug (Remicade) that suppresses the immune system to battle

the UC. As such, I believe he does have borrelia, but immune system is so

suppressed that it won't show up on any tests.

It's a good thing that your family has been tested as now you can begin

treatment. I will say that going through the initial stages of antibiotics and

supplements wore me out and I really struggled for several months. Both of my

boys are doing well on the treatment and we've seen substantial social and

language gains in my older son since we began antibiotics last December. I've

also stopped asthma medication as of February, where for the past 7 years I've

had to take it twice per day and would still wind up in the ER several times a

year during severe asthma attacks.

Good luck! Remember that your family is not alone in this.

Hi ,Thanks for sharing and your encouragement. Our son has been mostly on abx for almost a year. For the most part, his gains have been slow and barely noticeable. There are so many ASD symptoms that remain that the borrelia must be deeply entrenched in his brain and doesn't want to budge. Hopefully, the recently added tindamax and teasel will convince the little buggers that their jig is finally up. Likewise, we will commence work on getting their counterparts out of my wife.In the meantime, I wish good health and full recovery for you and your family, too. :-)To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Sent: Fri, August 13, 2010 2:16:35 PMSubject: Re: Congentital Lyme pretty much confirmed
