Grapefruit Juice & Genelex Drug Interaction Database/Re: Pulsing Wormwood

Thank you, Anne. I sent out a warning post and dont see it. Maybe it will come

out later in teh digest.. but just in case..

I joined the Genelex database for drug interactions as per cypP450. It seems

grapefruit juice will impact my toprol and surprisingly berberine may be worse

than grapefruit juice. Ive been taking berberine and goldenseal in the parasite

formula. This enzyme can take from 2 days to 2 weeks to come back to a

functioning level.

I didnt realize that there are seom substances that will effect a pathway

whether or not you have a slower enzyme defect on that particular pathway or

not.

If you have a pathway that is enzymatically inhibited, then any drug that passes

through that pathway will be effectd. But if you take in a substance that slows

down enxyme activity (or speeds up) for any pathway whether defective or not, if

you are also taking a drug that passes through that pathway, then the drug will

be effected.

grapefruit juice and berberine (goldenseal) will raise the amount of toprol in

my blood over 150%.

But, TUMERIC will raise levels of artimisinin without effecting levels of

toprol.

The genelex database software is less than 29$ a year for a prescription for one

person. I had expected the cost to be higher.

I will be using it from now on.
