I am interested in trying Butyrate but am confused as to which one to buy. My daughter cannot handle any calcium supplementation and she is on Spironolactone, which is a potassium-sparing diuretic used for brain inflammation, so she cannot take any extra potassium.

Is there another form of Butyrate that we can take and which brand?

Thanks

Elena

Krassi, sorry to keep going on, I just had one more thought. My son is a seizure kid, but as long as we don't detox too heavily, 5 mg of vinpocetine at 8pm (the seizures happen at night) stops the seizures (he weighs 33 lbs). I have also read that vinpocetine can help with speech. I read about it in Buhner's Lyme book, per Heidi's recomendation (thanks Heidi!!!!). I wonder if we're experiencing a synergistic effect with the vinpocetine and the butyrate. Vinpocetine opens the blood vessels in the brain and oxygenates. It probably also helps drain stuff, i.e. ammonia or whatever. When we started vinpocetine, we didn't see an increase in speech, but we did see a MUCH happier kid, and some increase in interaction.Bethany> >> > Just wanted to share our success with cal-mag butyrate. This is a supplement that we tried several months ago without any observable results, so went off

of it. In the meantime, my son has been on Valtrex, fluconazole, and flagyl. We restarted butyrate about a week ago, and what a difference! A big increase in speech. > > > > I'm trying to figure out more what this means; I know that butyrate cleans the liver and feeds the bowel, but is there something else that I can conclude by these improvements? He is also taking home-made phospholipids and hemp oil, our own version of part of the PK protocol. > > > > Thanks,> > > > Bethany> >>
