Guest guest
I was just told by my insurance company that they declined paying for my bi-est and progesterone because it is experimental. For Val-Estrogen Val thanks for your letter here. I had no idea my estradiol should be about 70 or so. My doctors are really so unknowledgeable about this stuff. I think they pay more attention to the woman having babies and basically ignore the post meno women patients. My doctor didn't even go over my test results with me. I just got a copy and then I did manage to talk to her and she said I was doing fine. But I'm not. She basically said she didn't want to add more estrogen because of the fibroid that is 3.5 cm. and the lining that increased from 3 mm to 5 mm. This does concern me also. But I am still very low and wonder why the lining has gotten thicker and also the fibroid problem? So I'm not sure what to do here. I do use the estriol vaginal cream also maybe every other day now. I know that estriol does not get into your system. I was going to try just using estriol alone without the estradiol but probably I need both. But what if the fibroid gets bigger? I know I need more progesterone but I can't tolerate that much. Just don't know what to do? Thanks for your input here. Anita

Guest guest
I would imagine your uterus is thickening because you are delivering the estriol cream directly into your uterus and you are not causing shedding at regular intervals. I don't believe the OTC progesterone cream is adequate to cause shedding. I'm afraid you're going to end up having to have a D & C or some other treatment for your uterine hyperplasia. What is it about the progesterone cream that you cannot tolerate? I used progesterone cream for two years. It didn't bother me; it just didn't have any positive effect either. The progesterone I use now is not a vaginal cream. It comes as a vaginal suppository which I use every three months. Val in Boulder, CO From: AtinaLee@... I was using progesterone when I was using the estriol vaginal cream and the vivelle patch. I just would use 1/8 tsp 2X a day and then sometimes I could only tolerate it once a day. I do think maybe I was using too much estriol but I wasn't using the patch that often. I would use the patch maybe once a week for one day. Then use the estriol vaginal cream every other day. I had some bad vaginal dryness which is much better now. I find if I don';t use the estriol vaginal cream the bad dryness comes back. I also find sometimes I have to stop the progesterone for a day or so. I use to use 75 mg. capsules for the progesterone but now just use the 3% cream. I understand what you are saying. That maybe the estriol was too much. But I thought it doesn't get into your bloodstream because it is vaginally. I didn't realize they made a progesterone cream vaginally? So I am still not sure why the lining increased. I have been trying lately not to take too much estrogen or progesterone.
