I read about your recent RUQ pain. It sounds like some of the ones I had

prior to my tx. Most went away without treatment of any kind after 4 to 6

hours. Some were so bad I took Codeine to reduce the pain. This drug or any

other isn't going to make the episode go away. Twice I went to the ER

because it was so bad. Once by ambulance, one by taxi. By the time I was

seen the pain had mostly or completely resolved. Both my Hepatologist and I

felt this was probably due to sludge in the bile ducts that eventually

passed. The most important thing was that I didn't have a fever or chills or

radiation of the pain to other places. It stayed in my gut or side and

didn't move. Good luck. Therefore it wasn't ascending cholangitis, an

infection going up into your liver which requires antibiotics.
