Kim-

That stinks. I hope the infection clears up quickly for Olivia. At least you will have a new band and hopefully a fresh start in the right direction. I'm sure CT will be addressing the fact that you were told to keep the band on her when the spot was getting tender- very unusual advice considering skin breakdown is a big concern and often avoided at all costs. CT should expedite the new band to make up for lost time. Keep us posted on how Olivia's healing up.

Kim, I'm so sorry to hear about all this. If it makes you feel any

better, my Daughter had to be casted 4 times during the banding

treatment and she actually only wore 1 band. Good Luck getting the

breakdown cleared up and back to rounding.

Kim,

I'm so sorry! This really does suck. But it is only a good thing that

Olivia will be getting a whole new band!! was only in her

first band from July to Sept due to major skin issuses. She ended up

getting an infection. She was recasted, and got a new band, it was

smooth sailing from then on. I'll keep my fingers crossed that, that

is the case w/Olivia too. Keep us posted. Enjoy her naked little head.

Oh, Kim, how frustrating! I really hope Olivia heals quickly and

that new band is rushed to CT for you... What happens from an

insrunce standpoint now - they don't charge you for a second band,

do they? I hope Olivia does well with her new casting - will that

be next week sometime? Hang in there!

  • 1 month later...

Olivia has been in her new band for two weeks now, and is doing so

much better than when she was in the original band. We went back

today for her first growth adjustment, and so far so good. We only

had to make one trip two days after she got the band for some minor

adjustments. It's been such a relief to not have to go back and

forth every other day for adjustments like the last time. Also, her

skin seems to be doing really well. I don't have to hold my breath

every time I take off her band now, worrying that a new red spot

will pop up. I really think that with her old band, her head really

grew between the casting and when we got the band 2 1/2 weeks later,

because why else would there have been so many problems? It's like

night and day comparing the two bands!! Anyway, thanks again for

everyone's concern (especially Stacey) about Olivia. I hope your

babies heads are rounding away!!
